A Corner Café, the Way They Should Be
Windowsill started with a simple wish: a neighborhood spot where the pastry is scratch-made, the coffee is serious, and you're welcome to stay as long as you like. Seven years later, that's still the whole idea — we just have a few more regulars and a lot more morning buns.
We bake everything in-house before the doors open — laminated pastries, bread, quiche, and whatever seasonal galette the fruit is asking for. Our coffee comes from a local roaster and our eggs from a Colorado farm. It's a small kitchen doing things the slow way, on purpose, so that a Tuesday morning by the window feels a little bit like a treat. Pull up a chair. Stay a while.

The Highlands Has a Favorite
Windowsill is my happy place. The morning bun is life-changing — flaky, orange-scented, caramelized edges — and the coffee is dialed. I come to work here on weekday mornings and never actually get much done because the light and the pastry are too good. Worth it.
The best brunch in the Highlands, full stop. The quiche is buttery perfection, the toasts are stacked, and everything is clearly baked with real care that morning. Cozy, sunny, and the staff are lovely. My whole weekend is planned around a table here.

Please do — it's the best way to skip the weekend line and make sure you get the morning buns before they sell out. Call or use our order-ahead with your pastries, cake, or spread and your pickup day, and we'll have it boxed and ready for you at the counter.
Do you serve breakfast and lunch all day?
We serve breakfast and brunch from open, and our sandwiches and toasts come on around late morning through close at 3pm. The pastry case is full all day until it isn't — mornings have the widest selection, so come early for first pick of the good stuff.
Do you make custom cakes?
We do — seasonal layer cakes, loaf cakes, and celebration bakes to order for birthdays, showers, and every occasion. Tell us your date, size, and flavors and we'll make something beautiful. Give us a few days' notice, and more for large or elaborate cakes.
Do you cater events?
Absolutely — breakfast spreads, pastry boxes, and coffee for offices, showers, and gatherings across Denver, all baked fresh for your date. Send us your headcount and day and we'll build a spread that makes the morning. Order ahead, as weekends fill up.
Do you have gluten-free or vegan options?
We keep a rotating gluten-friendly and vegan pastry or two daily, and our menu usually has options that work — though as a flour-and-butter kitchen we can't promise an allergen-free environment. Ask at the counter and we'll steer you to something wonderful.
Where are you, and is there parking?
We're on Tejon Street in the Highlands, an easy walk from LoHi and Berkeley, with street parking around. Look for the big windows and the line of very content people inside. We can't wait to save you a seat.
