Pan Dulce & Conchas in San Antonio
Conchas, empanadas, and café de olla — hecho a mano and baked fresh every morning at a family panadería on Guadalupe Street since 2002.
Straight From the Oven
Forty-plus kinds of pan dulce rotate through the case — here's the crew you can always count on.

Una Familia, un Horno, Desde 2002
Panadería Sol opened on Guadalupe Street in 2002 with a stone oven, a handful of recipes, and my mother's stubborn belief that pan dulce should taste like home. Twenty-four years later, the same familia is behind the counter, and the recipes haven't changed one bit.
We make everything hecho a mano — conchas shaped and scored by hand, empanadas folded one by one, café de olla simmered with real cinnamon and piloncillo. We start baking at 4am so the case is full and warm by six. It's a lot of early mornings for a two-dollar concha, and it's worth every one. Come in with the metal tongs and leave with a full bag and a fuller heart.

Puro Antojo
No lo veas con hambre. La panadería no se hace responsable.

El Sabor de Casa
There are a lot of panaderías in San Antonio. Here's why the West Side keeps coming to ours.
Hecho a Mano
Every concha is shaped and scored by hand, every empanada folded one by one. No machines, no shortcuts, pura mano.
Fresh at 4am
We start baking before dawn so the case is full and warm by six. What you buy was made this morning, siempre.
Family Recipes
The same recipes we opened with in 2002, brought from home and never changed for anyone. This is the real thing.
Precios Justos
Pan dulce should be for everyone. Our prices are fair on purpose — a warm concha shouldn't cost a fortune.
La Familia
The same family, the same corner, the same warmth for twenty-four years. Come once and we'll know your order.
A West Side Staple
Two decades, thousands of fiestas, and a line out the door on Sunday mornings. We're proud to be your panadería.
Cómo Se Hace el Pan
The slow, hand-made way, the same as it's always been.
01Se Amasa a Mano
We mix and knead the dough by hand each morning, the way my mother taught — no machine gets it quite right.
02Se Forma y Decora
Every concha is shaped and its sugar shell scored by hand, one at a time, in pink, yellow, and chocolate.
03Fresco del Horno
Into the oven before dawn and out to the case warm — the smell is how the whole neighborhood knows we're open.

El Pan Para Toda Fiesta
No quinceañera, cumpleaños, or Sunday gathering is complete without a tray of pan dulce, and there's only one place to get it — your neighborhood panadería. We build conchas trays, empanada spreads, cookie assortments, and made-to-order tres leches and cakes for every celebration.
Everything is baked fresh for your date and arranged the way it should be — generous, colorful, and beautiful. Whether it's a couple dozen conchas for the office or a full sweet table for a quince, tell us the occasion and the count and we'll take care of the rest. Order ahead for the holidays and Día de Muertos — we make pan de muerto that goes fast.

El West Side Habla
Panadería Sol's conchas are exactly like my abuela used to buy — soft, sweet, that crackly sugar top in pink and yellow. The whole place smells like home. I grab a bag with the metal tongs and a café de olla every Sunday. This is the West Side, in the best way.
Best empanadas in San Antonio, no question — pumpkin and pineapple, flaky and not too sweet, still warm from the case. I've tried every panadería in town and I keep coming back to Sol. Family-run, fair prices, and pan dulce the way it's supposed to be. Puro corazón.
We order tres leches and trays of pan dulce for every quinceañera and cumpleaños, and it's always perfect. The tres leches is soaked just right — not soggy, just heaven. They treat every order like it's for their own familia. Twenty-four years and still the best.
A warm concha and a café de olla with that cinnamon and piloncillo — it's my favorite five dollars in the city. The people behind the counter are pure warmth and everything is baked fresh that morning. A real neighborhood panadería. I'm here more than I'll admit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I order trays for a party?
¡Claro que sí! It's a tradition and one of our favorite things to do. Conchas trays, empanada spreads, cookie assortments, and made-to-order tres leches and cakes for quinceañeras, cumpleaños, and any celebration. Give us a day or two's notice for most orders, and more for cakes and holidays.
What time is the pan dulce freshest?
We start baking at 4am and the case is fullest and warmest right at opening, 6am. We bake throughout the day, so there's always something fresh, but the early birds get the widest selection — and the warmest conchas. Weekends get busy, so come early or order ahead.
Do you make cakes for quinceañeras and birthdays?
We do — tres leches, tradicional, and custom cakes made to order for quinceañeras, cumpleaños, weddings, and every celebration. Tell us your date, size, and flavors, and we'll make something beautiful. Give us a few days' notice, and more for large or elaborate cakes.
Do you have pan de muerto?
Sí, every year for Día de Muertos, and it goes fast. We also make pan for other holidays — rosca de reyes for Three Kings Day and more. Order ahead during the seasons, because these sell out quickly and we don't want you to miss them.
Do you have gluten-free or vegan pan?
We keep a small rotating selection and can sometimes make something to order with notice, though as a flour-heavy panadería we can't promise an allergen-free kitchen. Ask at the counter — con gusto we'll tell you what's available that day and help you find something rico.
Where are you, and is there parking?
We're on Guadalupe Street on the West Side, with a small lot and street parking around. Follow the smell of fresh conchas and café de olla — it drifts down the block and gives us away. Ven a visitarnos, always glad to see you.
