Why The Beardsmith

Beard Specialists, Not Generalists

Most shops treat the beard as an add-on to the haircut. We built our whole craft around it — and it shows.

We Only Do Beards Better

Beard work is our specialty, not a side task. Years of focus on one craft means results a generalist can't match.

Sculpted to Your Face

We shape every beard to your jaw, your growth, and your features — not a one-size trim. The difference is your whole face.

The Straight-Razor Line

Crisp cheek and neck lines cut with a straight razor and hot towels. It's the detail that separates sharp from scruffy.

The Right Products

We match the oils, balms, and routine to your hair type, so your beard stays soft, healthy, and sharp between visits.

A Beardsmith Who Knows You

See the same specialist each time — someone who learns your growth patterns and gets your beard more dialed every visit.

Advice You'll Actually Use

Leave with a simple, honest home routine to keep the shape sharp — no upsell, just what genuinely works for your beard.

The Craft

A Beard Is Worth Doing Right

Anyone with clippers can trim a beard. Sculpting one — shaping it to a man's face so it actually makes him look better — is a genuine craft, and it's the only thing we do. We opened The Beardsmith on Larimer in 2017 because Denver had plenty of great barbers but nowhere that treated the beard as the main event.

Every beard is different: how it grows, where it's patchy, how coarse it is, what suits the face it's on. Our specialists read all of that and shape accordingly — the right length, the right lines, the right products to keep it healthy. We use hot towels and a straight razor for lines a trimmer can't touch, and we send you home knowing exactly how to maintain it. Forty thousand beards later, we're still obsessed with getting yours exactly right. If it grows on your face, we'll perfect it.

How a Sculpt Goes

New to a proper beard service? Here's exactly what happens when you sit in the Beardsmith chair.

1

The Read

We look at how your beard grows, where it's strong and where it's thin, and talk through the shape that'll suit your face.

2

The Shape

We sculpt the length and outline to your jaw and features — building structure, not just taking length off evenly.

3

The Lines

Hot towels and a straight razor for crisp, clean cheek and neck lines. This is the detail that makes a beard look intentional.

4

The Finish

Conditioning oil worked through, a final shape check, and a simple routine to keep it looking this sharp at home.

The Shape Is Only Half of It

A great sculpt gets your beard looking sharp for the walk out the door. Keeping it that way — soft, healthy, itch-free, and holding its shape — is about what you do at home, and it's where most men go wrong.

We match the products to your actual beard: a lighter oil for fine hair, a heavier balm for coarse and unruly growth, the right wash so you're not stripping it dry. Then we give you a routine that takes two minutes a day, not twenty. No shelf full of gimmicks you'll never use — just the two or three things that genuinely keep your beard healthy and your shape crisp between visits. Beard care done right means the sculpt looks as good in week three as it did on day one. That's the standard, and we'll set you up to hit it.

  • Products matched to your beard type
  • A two-minute daily routine, not twenty
  • No gimmicks — just what works
  • The shape holds from day one to week three

Denver's Best Beards

I'd been trimming my own beard for a decade and it always looked... fine. My first sculpt at The Beardsmith was a revelation — they shaped it to my jaw, cleaned up lines I didn't know were crooked, and suddenly my whole face looked sharper. People noticed immediately. These guys treat beards as a genuine craft, and it shows. I'll never go back to doing it myself.

The hot-towel beard shave and shape here is the best twenty minutes of my month. Hot towels, proper oils, a straight razor on the cheek lines — I walk out feeling completely reset and looking dialed in. My barber knows my beard better than I do at this point. If you take your beard seriously, this is the only place in Denver that takes it as seriously as you do.

Grey started coming into my beard fast and I hated it. The grey blending they do is unbelievable — it's not dye, it just softens the grey so it looks natural and intentional instead of patchy. Nobody can tell it's done. My barber talked me through the whole thing and nailed the amount perfectly. Total confidence boost, and it's held up great between visits.

Came in with a shapeless neckbeard situation before my wedding and left looking like I belonged in a whiskey ad. The sculpt was precise, they recommended the right oil for my coarse hair, and gave me a simple routine to keep it sharp at home. Skilled, honest, and genuinely passionate about beards. My groomsmen all booked in after seeing the result.

Beard Questions, Answered

What makes a beard sculpt different from a trim?

A trim just takes length off, usually evenly, and leaves the shape roughly where it was. A sculpt is a different thing entirely: we read how your beard grows and shape it to your specific face and jaw — building structure, correcting asymmetry, defining crisp cheek and neck lines with a straight razor, and finishing with conditioning. The goal isn't just a shorter beard, it's a beard that genuinely makes your whole face look sharper. Most men are surprised how much difference proper shaping makes versus the even trim they've been giving themselves.

How much do your beard services cost?

A full beard sculpt is $42, a trim and line-up to keep an existing beard fresh is $28, and a hot-towel beard shave with straight-razor shaping is $45. A precision cut paired with a full beard sculpt is $58, grey blending for the beard is $50, and a deep-conditioning beard treatment is $35. Every service includes a consultation and honest advice on maintaining your beard at home, and pricing is clear up front with no surprise add-ons at the chair.

My beard is patchy — can you still help?

Almost always, yes — and it's one of the most common things men come to us worried about. A skilled specialist can do a lot with a patchy beard: shaping the outline and length strategically to draw the eye away from thin spots, choosing a style that works with your growth rather than against it, and advising honestly on what will and won't fill in over time. Sometimes the fix is a slightly different shape you'd never have thought of. Come in and we'll give you a straight, realistic read on the best look for your growth.

What is grey blending for beards?

It's a subtle, natural softening of beard grey — not a dye job. Instead of blocking out the grey with an obvious uniform colour, we gently reduce and blend it so it reads as intentional and understated rather than patchy. The result is something most people can't tell has been done; your beard just looks like a confident, well-kept version of its natural colour. It's popular with men who want to take the edge off fast-coming or uneven grey without it ever looking coloured. We'll talk you through it and match the amount to look right on you, with zero pressure.

Do you sell the products you use?

We do, and we only stock what we actually use and believe in — a focused range of oils, balms, and washes rather than a wall of gimmicks. But there's genuinely no pressure to buy: the value is in us matching the right products to your specific beard type and showing you a simple routine, and if you'd rather pick those up elsewhere, that's completely fine. We'd always rather you have the two or three things that actually keep your beard healthy than a shelf full of stuff you'll never use. Good beard care is simpler than the industry makes it look.

How often should I come in?

For most men, a full beard sculpt every four to six weeks keeps the shape and length right, with an optional quick trim-and-line in between if you like it razor-sharp at all times. It really depends on how fast you grow and how defined you like to keep it — a longer, fuller style is more forgiving between visits, while a shorter, tightly-shaped beard needs more frequent upkeep to stay crisp. We'll give you an honest recommendation based on your beard and your preferences, and you can always rebook on a rhythm that works for you.
