Warpaint is Portland's barbershop with a pulse — sharp cuts, clean fades, and proper beard work in a shop that runs on good records, real people, and zero attitude. A haircut and a hangout. Pull up.
Cuts That Speak for Themselves
Sharp cuts, clean fades, and proper beard work coming out of the Warpaint chairs. This is the standard — every day.

Cuts, Fades & Beards
Sharp work at fair prices, no upsell and no attitude. Book your barber or pull up — either way you leave looking right.

A Haircut and a Hangout
Most barbershops are one of two things: skilled but sterile, or full of vibe but light on the actual cut. We opened Warpaint on SE Division in 2018 because Portland deserved a shop that refused to pick — genuinely great barbering in a place that actually has a pulse.
So that's what we built. The barbers here are properly skilled — sharp on a fade, precise on a beard, and dialed on whatever you walk in wanting — but they're also just good people you'd grab a beer with. The shop runs on good records, real conversation, and a come-as-you-are welcome that's just as easy for a tattooed regular as it is for a nervous kid or somebody's grandma. No attitude, no pretense, no pressure to be anything but yourself. You get a cut that's genuinely sharp and an hour that's genuinely good. That's the whole idea — and eight years in, it's why Portland keeps pulling up to Warpaint.

More Than a Barbershop
Ask anyone who gets cut at Warpaint and they'll tell you the fade is only half of why they keep coming back. The other half is the shop itself — the records, the regulars, the easy conversation, and a room that's genuinely good to be in.
We've made Warpaint a fixture of SE Division on purpose. We host shows and pop-ups, hang local artists' work on the walls, sponsor a couple of neighborhood teams, and keep the door open to everyone who walks up — no dress code, no vibe check, no pretense. It's the kind of shop where a skater, a chef, a dad, and a grandma all end up in the chairs on the same afternoon and it just works. Great barbering brought people in; the culture is what made them stay. So yeah, you'll leave with the sharpest cut in Portland — but you'll also leave feeling like you were somewhere real. That's Warpaint, and that's the whole point.
- ✓A fixture of the SE Division scene
- ✓Shows, pop-ups & local art on the walls
- ✓Everybody's welcome, no vibe check
- ✓The culture is why people stay
Portland Pulls Up
Warpaint is the first shop in Portland that gets both halves right — the cut is genuinely sharp and the place actually has a soul. Good records on the turntable, real conversation, tattoos and flannel and zero attitude. My barber nails my fade every time and I actually look forward to going. It's a haircut and a hangout. Every other shop feels sterile now. This is my spot for life.
I've got a full sleeve and a beard I'm particular about, and Warpaint is the only shop that's never made either feel like a problem — it's their whole vibe. The beard work is precise, the cut is clean, and the barbers are people I'd actually grab a beer with. It's the rare shop that's cool without trying and skilled without the ego. Portland finally has a barbershop that gets it.
Brought my kid in nervous about a stranger cutting his hair and the barbers were so laid-back and cool with him that he was laughing in five minutes. Now he asks to come back. That's the thing about Warpaint — it's got an edge but it's genuinely welcoming to everyone, from skaters to dads to grandmas. Great cuts, great people, great music. It's just a good place to be.
Pulled up as a walk-in on a whim and left with the best cut I've had in Portland, full stop. The energy in the shop is unmatched — it feels like a friend's living room that happens to give incredible fades. Fair prices, no pretense, and barbers who clearly love what they do. Warpaint has a genuine culture, and you feel it the second you walk in. Instant regular.
Questions, Answered
Do I need to book or can I walk in?
Either works at Warpaint. We keep chairs open for walk-ins every day we're open, so you're always welcome to just pull up off Division — grab a coffee, put your name down, and hang while you wait. That said, if you want a specific barber or a specific time, especially on a weekend, booking online takes under a minute and locks it in. We're pretty easygoing about it, so do whatever suits you; either way you're getting the same sharp cut and the same good vibes.
How much is a cut?
A cut is $38, a fade is $42, and beard work on its own is $28. A cut paired with beard work is $58, and The Works — cut, beard, hot-towel finish, and the full treatment — is $72. Kids' cuts for the under-twelves are $26. Every service includes a consultation and a proper finish, and our pricing is clear and up front with no upsell and no surprise add-ons at the chair. Fair prices for sharp work is kind of the whole point — we're not into gouging anybody.
Is the shop tattoo-friendly / laid-back?
Extremely — it's genuinely core to who we are. Warpaint is a come-as-you-are shop with zero pretense and zero attitude. Tattooed regulars, first-timers, skaters, chefs, dads, kids, and grandmas all end up in our chairs, and everybody gets the same welcome and the same respect. There's no dress code, no vibe check, and no making anyone feel out of place. We run on good music and real conversation, and the whole idea is that the shop feels like somewhere you actually want to be, whoever you are. If you've felt out of place in a barbershop before, you won't here.
Are the barbers actually skilled, or is it all vibe?
Both, and we'd never trade one for the other — that balance is the entire reason we exist. Plenty of shops have great energy but a mediocre cut, or a sharp cut in a sterile, joyless room. Our barbers are properly skilled and seasoned: dialed on fades, precise on beards, and able to nail whatever you walk in wanting. The vibe is real, but it never comes at the expense of the work. Loads of our regulars came for the atmosphere and stayed because it's genuinely the best cut they get in Portland. Sharp cut and a good hang — you get both.
Can I bring my kids?
Please do — kids are completely welcome and we're great with them. Our barbers are relaxed and easygoing, which tends to put nervous little ones at ease fast, and plenty of kids who were anxious about a haircut end up asking to come back. A kids' cut for the under-twelves is $26 and includes the same skill and the same good vibes as everything else, just with a smaller chair and a bit more patience. It's the kind of shop where a parent and a kid can both get cut and it's genuinely a good time. Bring 'em by.
Can I request a specific barber?
Absolutely, and a lot of our regulars do. When you book online you can pick your barber directly, and if you're walking in you can ask for whoever you like — we'll let you know their wait. Sticking with one barber is worth it: they learn your hair, your fade, your beard, and exactly how you like it, so every cut gets a little more dialed than the last. If you're new and not sure who to book, just tell us what you're after and we'll match you with the right barber for it. However you come in, you're in good hands.
