Do I need to book, or can I walk in?
Sable & Oak is by appointment, and it's a deliberate choice. Booking means your barber and your chair are reserved for you, so you're never waiting and never rushed — the whole visit is calm and yours. It also means you can see the same barber each time and build on the work. You can book online in under a minute, and if you're after a same-day slot it's always worth calling us, since we do our best to fit people in.
How much does a cut or the full groom cost?
A precision cut is $48, a beard sculpt is $38, and a traditional hot-towel shave is $45. The Full Groom — cut, beard, and shave together — is $95, and it's the complete experience. Grey blending is $55 and a scalp-and-skin treatment is $40. Every service includes a proper consultation and an unhurried finish, and the price you see is the price you pay. No surprise add-ons, no pressure to upgrade at the chair.
What is grey blending, exactly?
Grey blending is a subtle, natural softening of grey hair — not a dye job. Rather than blocking the grey out with an obvious, uniform colour, we gently reduce and blend it so it reads as intentional and understated. The result is something most people can't tell has been done at all; it just looks like a confident, well-kept version of your natural colour. It's popular with men who want to soften early grey or take the edge off without it ever looking coloured. We'll talk you through it with zero pressure.
Can I see the same barber every time?
Absolutely, and we'd encourage it. When you book you can request your barber, and most of our regulars stick with the same person visit after visit. There's real value in it — your barber learns your hair type, how it grows, how you like your beard shaped, and the look you're going for, so each cut builds on the last rather than starting from scratch. It's a big part of why the work gets better the longer you come to us.

We do, and it's one of the things people book us for specifically. It takes about twenty unhurried minutes and it's genuinely relaxing. You can book it on its own, or include it in The Full Groom alongside a cut and beard work.
