Louver Size
Wider louvers (3 1/2 or 4 1/2 inch) give a bigger view when open. Smaller ones suit short windows and traditional rooms.
Material
Composite for humid rooms and the sunny side of the house. Hardwood where you want a stain or the lightest panel.
Frame And Tilt Rod
Inside-mount where the sill is deep enough, a decorative outside frame where it isn't. Then a classic front tilt rod, or a hidden one for a cleaner look.
Made For Steam
A bathroom window needs privacy at night and light in the morning. Shutters do both, and composite panels shrug off the steam that warps wood. Café-style shutters cover just the lower half, so the top of the window stays bright.

Our composite shutters start at $28 per square foot and hardwood at $38, measured and installed. A typical 3 x 5 ft window runs about $420 to $600. Arched and shaped windows are quoted after the measure.

Yes. The visit, the measure and the written quote cost nothing, and there's no obligation.
How long does an order take?
Usually six to eight weeks from measure to install. If you're away for the summer, we can schedule the install for when you're back.
Composite or hardwood?
Composite for bathrooms, kitchens and windows that take full afternoon sun; it won't warp in humidity. Hardwood is lighter, so it suits very wide panels, and it can be stained. Many homes use both.
Can you shutter arched or odd-shaped windows?
Yes. We make a template of the actual window and build the shutter to match, with louvers that follow the curve or a fixed sunburst panel.
Do plantation shutters protect against hurricanes?
No. Plantation shutters are interior window coverings. They don't replace impact windows or storm shutters, and we'll never suggest they do.
