Detailing worthy of a classic

For two decades, Crank & Chrome has prepped show winners and preserved original finishes by hand. We treat a classic the way it was meant to be treated — patiently, and with reverence.

Our Story

Two Decades, One Bay, Every Car a Friend

Crank & Chrome started in 2004 with a single lift and a conviction that classics deserve better than a production-line buff. Twenty-two years later, we're still in the same East Nashville garage, still working one car at a time. We've learned what every marque and every era of paint needs — and we've earned the trust of the collectors who bring us cars they've spent lifetimes restoring.

  • Family-run since 2004

A careful inspection of paint, chrome, and interior to plan the work.

Restoration Care

Keep It Show-Ready, Season After Season

A concours finish is only the beginning. Our storage and care program keeps your classic protected between shows — climate-aware storage advice, scheduled hand maintenance, and a documented history for every vehicle in your collection. Whether it's one car or a garage full, each gets the same patient attention it earned the first time through our bay.

  • Scheduled hand maintenance
  • Documented per-car history
  • Between-show preservation
  • Single car or full collection
From the Owners

Trusted With Nashville's Classics

Crank & Chrome detailed my '67 Mustang for a regional show and we took Best in Class. They understand original paint — they preserved it, didn't polish it away. Rare knowledge.

Twenty-two years of classics shows. They hand-polished the chrome on my Bel Air to a depth I haven't seen since it left the factory. No swirl, no haze, just glow.
Diane RourkeEast Nashville
The leather restoration on my Jaguar's interior was extraordinary. They sourced period-correct conditioners and saved seats I assumed were beyond help. True craftsmen.

Questions

Working With Crank & Chrome

Do you work on original-paint cars?

It's our specialty. We preserve factory finishes and patina rather than polishing them away, using gentle hand methods that protect fragile, irreplaceable original paint.

Can you prep a car for a show or concours?

Yes — show and concours prep is a core service. We've prepped award-winning classics and provide the documentation judges and buyers look for.

How long will my car be at the shop?

We work one car at a time. A show prep may take several days; a full restoration detail can take a week or more. The timeline is yours, not a queue's.

Do you only detail vintage and classic cars?

Classics and collector cars are our focus, but we welcome any vehicle whose owner wants patient, hand-finished, preservation-minded care.

What is the storage and care program?

It's an ongoing arrangement for collectors — scheduled hand maintenance, between-show preservation, and a documented history kept on file for each car in your care.
