The $6,400 Quote That Became $480
Three carpet companies told me the whole upstairs needed replacement — $6,400, minimum, plus moving every piece of furniture. Where does donor carpet come from?
The best source is your own home — a closet floor or under a permanent piece of furniture. Failing that, our workshop keeps a remnant library sorted by pile and color. We'll tell you the plan before we cut anything.
Why is my carpet rippling in the first place?
Usually a stretched-in install relaxing with age, humidity swings, or heavy furniture drag. A power-stretch re-tensions the whole room — and unlike re-kicking, it holds. Twenty-one years of re-stretches and we almost never return to the same room twice.
Can you fix carpet after a flood?
Once everything is fully dry — yes, usually. Water swells and relaxes the backing, so rooms come back wavy. We re-stretch, rebuild seams that let go, and re-secure transitions. If the backing has delaminated, we'll show you and say so.
