Injuries We Get You Back From
⚡ Same-Week Appointments ✓ Certified ART Providers 🏆 94% Return to Sport

Built by Athletes, for Athletes
Torque Sport & Spine opened in East Austin in 2015 with one focus: get active people back to doing what they love, faster. We're not a crack-and-go clinic and we're not a spa. We're sports chiropractors — ART-certified, movement-obsessed, and just as comfortable programming your return-to-sport rehab as we are adjusting your spine.
Over eleven years we've treated more than 8,500 Austin athletes: marathoners with stubborn IT bands, lifters with cranky backs, CrossFitters mid-tweak, cyclists after a crash. Every one starts the same way — a real assessment that finds the actual cause, an honest plan, and hands-on care that gets you moving. We train and compete ourselves, so we get it: you don't want to be told to rest. You want to get back out there. That's the whole point of Torque.

The Difference You Feel in One Visit
Sports-specific care built to get you back to full training — not just out of pain.
We Find the Real Cause
Pain is a symptom. Our movement assessment traces it to the source — so we fix the problem, not just quiet it down for a week.
Treatment + Rehab Together
ART, adjustments, and progressive strength work in one plan. That combination is why athletes get back faster here and stay back.
A Real Return-to-Sport Path
We don't discharge you at 'no pain.' We rebuild you to full load with clear milestones, so the injury doesn't return the moment you push.
That Nagging Injury Won't Fix Itself
Book a sports assessment this week. We'll find what's holding you back and give you a straight answer on how to fix it.
Where Athletes Get Back to It
Hands-on treatment, soft-tissue work, and rehab — all under one roof in East Austin.

Back to Training, Back to PRs
Six months of IT-band pain that three other clinics couldn't fix. Torque found the real cause in one visit, and after a few weeks of ART and a smart rehab plan I ran a PR at the Austin Half. These are the people who actually get athletes.
My deadlift wrecked my lower back and I thought my season was over. Dr. Vance had me moving pain-free in two weeks and coached me back under the bar without babying it. Straight-talking, sports-smart care.
As a CrossFitter I'm always tweaking something. Torque is my first call now — they treat the injury AND fix why it happened, then tape me up and keep me training. Same-week appointments every time.

We Get You All the Way Back
Getting out of pain is the easy part. Staying out — and getting back to full training — is where most care stops short. Torque doesn't. From your first assessment we're aiming at one thing: you, back to your sport, moving better than before you got hurt. We give you an honest timeline, we measure your progress, and we don't call it done until you're doing what you came in to do again. No endless visits, no vague 'come back when it hurts.' Just a clear path back to the start line, the bar, or the trail.
- ✓An honest return-to-sport timeline
- ✓Progress you can measure, week to week
- ✓Care that ends when you're back — not when the package does
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be an athlete to come here?
Not at all. 'Athlete' at Torque means anyone who wants to move well and stay active — weekend hikers, desk workers with back pain, new runners, and lifelong competitors alike. Our sports-focused approach (find the cause, treat it, rebuild strength) works just as well for everyday aches as it does for race-day injuries.
What is Active Release Technique (ART)?
ART is a certified hands-on soft-tissue method that breaks up scar tissue and adhesions in muscles, tendons, and nerves, then restores their normal glide and length. It's especially effective for overuse injuries — IT-band syndrome, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, shin splints — and it's one of the core tools we combine with adjustments and rehab.
How fast can I get back to training?
It depends on the injury, but our whole model is built around getting you back as fast as safely possible. Many athletes feel a real difference in the first visit or two, and we give you an honest return-to-sport timeline up front — then we work the plan and adjust as you progress, with clear milestones so you know exactly when you're ready to push.
Do you take insurance?
We work with many major insurance plans and will verify your coverage before your first visit so there are no surprises. We also offer clear self-pay and athlete package pricing. Just tell us your plan when you book and we'll handle the details.
Will an adjustment hurt?
Adjustments generally don't hurt — most athletes find them relieving. We tailor every technique to your body and comfort, explain what we're doing first, and use gentle, low-force options whenever they're the better fit. Soft-tissue work like ART can feel intense in the moment but is very tolerable and the results are worth it.
How do I book an assessment?
Use the booking form on this page or give us a call — it takes a minute. Tell us your sport and what's bothering you, pick a preferred day, and we'll confirm a same-week appointment. Your first visit is a full assessment and treatment, so you'll leave with answers and a plan, not just a follow-up.
