About Stackwold

Pittsburgh Engineers, Not A Call Center

Stackwold is a team of eleven engineers in the Strip District. We've been keeping Pittsburgh offices, clinics, law firms and manufacturers running for sixteen years.

When you call, a local engineer picks up — someone who has been to your office and knows your setup. We explain what we're doing in plain English, and we tell you when something doesn't need fixing.

  • ✓Local engineers who visit your office
  • ✓Plain-English explanations, no jargon
  • ✓Vendor-neutral advice — we don't sell hardware for commission
Why Stackwold

What Changes When We Take Over

01

Answers In Minutes

Tickets are picked up by a real engineer in an average of twelve minutes during business hours.

02

Problems Found Early

Monitoring spots failing drives, full disks and expired certificates before your staff notice.

03

Backups That Restore

We test-restore your backups every quarter, so the day you need them is not the day you find out.

04

A Budget You Can Plan

One flat monthly fee and a yearly roadmap, so hardware replacements aren't a surprise.

4

Steady Support

Security first

Most Breaches Start With One Email

Small businesses are the easiest targets because they're the least protected. We close the common gaps — weak passwords, missing updates, untested backups, staff who've never seen a phishing test — before someone else finds them.

Every plan includes the basics. Our Complete plan adds monitoring, staff training and a written incident plan.

  • ✓Multi-factor sign-in on every account
  • ✓Phishing tests and short staff training
  • ✓Backups kept off site and tested quarterly
Who we support

Industries We Know Well

Healthcare Practices

Clinics, dental offices and therapy practices that need secure patient data and systems that never stop.

Professional Firms

Law, accounting and engineering firms with sensitive client files and remote staff.

Manufacturing & Trades

Shop-floor PCs, office networks and job-site laptops that all have to talk to each other.

IT Questions, Straight Answers

Do we need to sign a long contract?

No. Monthly plans run month to month with 30 days' notice. We keep clients by doing the job well, not with a three-year agreement.

Can you work with the equipment we already have?

Almost always. The assessment tells us what's worth keeping and what's close to failing, and we plan replacements over time instead of all at once.

What happens outside business hours?

Complete plan clients have a 24/7 emergency line for outages and security incidents. Everything else is picked up first thing the next business day.

Do you only support Pittsburgh businesses?

Our clients are across Allegheny County and western Pennsylvania, from Cranberry to the South Hills. Most support is remote; on-site visits are included in the Complete plan.

We already have an IT person. Can you help?

Yes — co-managed IT is common. We handle security, backups and projects so your in-house person can focus on the day-to-day.

How long does it take to switch to you?

Usually two to three weeks from the assessment to full support, and we do the handover work with your previous provider.
