Faith, Woven In

Where Little Hearts Learn Big Truths

Faith at Shepherd & Sparrow isn't a Friday add-on — it's the water we swim in. Mornings open with a blessing, Bible stories anchor our curriculum themes, meals begin with grace, and chapel each week is the children's favorite gathering.

We hold to the essentials — God's love, kindness, gratitude, and grace — taught at a preschooler's pace and welcoming to families across Christian traditions.

  • Weekly chapel, daily prayer & blessings
  • Bible-based curriculum themes
  • Scripture songs & memory verses by heart
  • Welcoming across Christian traditions

Our Story

Eighteen Years of Open Doors

Shepherd & Sparrow began in 2008 with six children in a church fellowship hall and a simple conviction: working families shouldn't have to choose between excellent care and faithful care.

Today we serve over a hundred Franklin families, but the heart hasn't changed — teachers who pray for your child by name, doors that are always open to parents, and a community that shows up with casseroles when your family needs them.

Family Questions

What Parents Ask Us

Do we need to attend church to enroll?

No. Our families come from many churches and some from none at all — everyone is welcome. We're upfront that faith is woven through our days, and we honor every family's journey.

What does the faith curriculum actually look like?

Age-appropriate Bible stories, scripture songs, memory verses, grace before meals, and weekly chapel. Think wonder and kindness, not theology lectures — it's preschool, joyfully.

Is the academic program strong too?

Yes — faith and excellence aren't competitors here. Our Pre-K uses a phonics-based literacy program and hands-on math, and our graduates consistently enter kindergarten ready and confident.

What are your ratios and safety practices?

TN DHS licensed with a 1:4 infant ratio, background-checked and CPR-certified staff, secure entry, and photo-verified pickup. Excellent care is part of the ministry.

What is Mother's Day Out?

Two mornings a week (Tuesday/Thursday, 9-2) of loving care for littles and a breather for parents — a Franklin tradition and often a family's first step into our community.

Do you close for church holidays?

We follow a published calendar with major holidays and a teacher in-service week — handed out at enrollment and posted in the parent app, no surprises.

Schedule Your Visit

Tell us your child's age and a good time to come by. We'll reply within one business day — and Wednesday visitors get chapel.
