Two Languages by Kindergarten — Immersion Preschool in Chicago, IL
Full Mandarin or French immersion with native-speaker teachers, in the exact window when a second language comes effortlessly — and a whole second culture comes with it.

The Window Closes. The Gift Lasts a Lifetime.
Between birth and about age six, a child's brain is uniquely, almost magically, wired to absorb language — accent, grammar, and all — the way it absorbed their first. No flashcards, no drills; just a whole joyful day lived in Mandarin or French, and the language simply grows in.
Miss that window and a second language becomes a lifelong effort of study. Catch it, and your child gets a second language for free — plus the bilingual brain's documented edge in focus, problem-solving, and empathy, and a lifelong door into another culture. The years are short. The advantage is permanent.
- ✓The effortless-acquisition window is birth to six
- ✓Bilingual brains gain focus, flexibility & empathy
- ✓A second language AND a second culture, for life

Where Two Worlds Come Alive

Native Speakers, Real Culture, Warm Hearts
Immersion only works when children fall in love with the person speaking the language. Our lead teachers are native speakers of Mandarin and French — from Beijing and Taipei, Paris and Montreal — with early-childhood credentials, CPR certification, and full background checks. The accent your child absorbs is the real one.
And because immersion asks so much trust of a family, every teacher is also fully bilingual: your child's day happens in the target language, but a scraped knee, a hard morning, or a chat with you happens in whatever language wraps around your family best.
- ✓Native speakers from China, Taiwan, France & Canada
- ✓Early-childhood credentialed, CPR certified
- ✓Fully bilingual for the tender moments

About Language Immersion
We don't speak Mandarin or French at home — will my child be lost?
Not at all, and most of our families are in exactly your position. Native-speaker teachers use gestures, routines, songs, and pictures so children understand from the very first day. Within weeks they follow the whole day; within months they're speaking. You don't need to know the language for your child to gain it.
Will full immersion delay my child's English?
No — this is the most-studied question in immersion education. English is the community language and develops right on schedule (it's everywhere: home, playground, media). We also track English school-readiness twice a year, so you're never guessing. Children gain the second language without losing the first.
How quickly will my child actually speak Mandarin or French?
Most children understand everyday language within two to three months, speak words and phrases by six months, and form sentences around the one-year mark. Every child's pace differs, and all of them get there — comprehension always comes before speaking, just like a first language.
What are your ratios, licensing, and teacher credentials?
We're licensed by Illinois DCFS (Lic. #DC-1180457), with a 1:7 immersion ratio and native-speaker lead teachers who hold early-childhood credentials, CPR certification, and full background checks. Small classes are essential to rich, individual language exposure.
Mandarin or French — how do we choose?
Both are wonderful, and neither is 'better.' Families often choose Mandarin for its global reach and cognitive challenge, or French for heritage, travel, and its link to the arts and other Romance languages. We're happy to talk it through on a tour; there's no wrong answer.
How do we get started?
Book a tour — a daytime visit where you can watch immersion in action and hear the fluency yourself. Tell us your child's age and language interest, and we'll set up your visit and talk through openings by language and stage.
