What Shift-Work Parents Ask
Is someone actually awake all night?
Yes — an awake, caffeinated caregiver every single night, walking silent room checks every 15 minutes and logging each one. Overnight staffing is 1:4, tighter than Nevada requires, plus an on-call second staffer within 10 minutes.
Where do children sleep?
In real beds: cribs with NV safe-sleep practice for infants, rail-guarded toddler beds, and twin beds for big kids. Blackout shades, white noise, 70 degrees, fresh linens every stay — and their own blanket or lovey from home is encouraged.
Can you handle a schedule that changes every week?
That's our core design. Families send next week's rota by Thursday and get confirmed hours by Friday. Rotating shifts, doubles, and last-minute overtime are normal here, not exceptions.
Do you do school drop-off in the morning?
Yes — school-age kids get breakfast, packed backpacks, and a ride to school on our morning route (currently five schools in Spring Valley and Paradise). You get a text at drop-off.
How does pricing work for odd hours?
By the hour-block, not by 'days' — evening, overnight, and weekend blocks each have a flat rate, with extended-shift rates that kick in automatically instead of penalty fees. The rate sheet comes with your schedule confirmation.
Are you open on holidays?
All 365 nights — Christmas, New Year's Eve (especially New Year's Eve, this is Vegas), Thanksgiving. Holiday blocks book out about three weeks ahead, so flag them early.
Can I visit before committing to an overnight?
Please do — and come at night. Unannounced tours are welcome any hour; the 3 AM tour is genuinely our best sales pitch. You'll see the dim halls, the awake staffer, and the check log mid-write.
