Outside Is Our Favorite Room
There's no such thing as bad weather here — only exciting weather and the right boots. Every single day, our children spend at least two hours outdoors, because nature is the richest, most surprising classroom we have.
They build mud kitchens, follow bugs, dig for worms, splash in puddles, use real (kid-sized) tools, and take real, well-supported risks. It builds strong bodies, brave hearts, and a lifelong love of the wild world. Pack the rain boots — they'll get gloriously used.

Decades of research show this builds stronger executive function, language, and problem-solving than early academic drilling. It's serious learning wearing a joyful disguise.
Will my child be ready for kindergarten?
Yes — and often more so. Our graduates enter school curious, confident, socially skilled, and genuinely in love with learning, which is exactly what predicts long-term success. Literacy and numeracy grow through play here, so the academics arrive; they're just discovered rather than drilled.
Two hours outside every day? Even in bad weather?
Every day, in nearly all weather — we plan for rain, cold, and mud, and we'll give you a gear list. Outdoor time builds strong bodies, focus, and resilience, and honestly, the rainy days are often the children's favorites. There's no bad weather, just the right boots.
My child is really energetic — is that a problem?
It's a gift here. High-energy, spirited children often thrive in a play-based program precisely because their bodies and big ideas have room to move. All that energy becomes fuel for building, running, and creating — and focus tends to follow, not fight it.
What are your ratios and licensing?
We're licensed by Missouri DESE (Lic. #2026-4471) with a 1:6 preschool ratio, background-checked and CPR-certified teachers, secure entry, and thorough safety protocols for our indoor and outdoor spaces alike. Adventurous play and careful safety go hand in hand.
