Sports Medicine Doctor in Bozeman, MT
Sprains, strains, concussions and overuse injuries diagnosed and treated without surgery, by physicians trained in sports medicine — with a plan to get you back to the trail, the slopes or the game.
Injuries We Treat
Most sports injuries never need surgery. When yours does, we'll tell you and refer you to the right surgeon.

Sports Doctors Who Don't Default To Surgery
Our physicians are board-certified in family medicine with added training in sports medicine — doctors who specialize in muscles, bones and joints without operating. That means a careful exam, the right imaging only when it's needed, and a plan built around the activity you want to get back to.
We work closely with Gallatin Valley physical therapists, athletic trainers and orthopedic surgeons, so if you do need one of them, the hand-off is quick and your records go with you.
- ✓Sports medicine–trained physicians

From skiing twists to runner's knee — what's injured, and what will help.

Ankle Sprains
Checked properly, so a bad sprain doesn't turn into a weak ankle for years.

A Clear Path Back After A Head Injury
Concussions need a plan, not guesswork. We evaluate symptoms, balance and thinking, then guide a step-by-step return — school or work first, then light activity, then full contact — and provide the clearance letter your school or league needs.
If symptoms are severe or getting worse — repeated vomiting, a worsening headache, confusion, a seizure or weakness — call 911 or go to the emergency room.
- ✓Evaluation and symptom tracking
- ✓Graded return to school and sport
- ✓Clearance letters for schools and leagues

Back On The Trail
Rolled my ankle on a trail run on Tuesday and was seen Wednesday morning. They checked it with ultrasound in the room, explained exactly what was injured and gave me a week-by-week plan to get back on the trail.
Our son took a hit in a hockey game and had headaches for days. The concussion plan told us exactly when he could go back to class, then practice, then games — and the school got a letter we could hand over.
I thought my knee meant surgery. The doctor explained why it didn't, set me up with a physical therapist and checked in every few weeks. I skied the whole second half of the season.

Get Seen Before It Gets Worse

Sports Medicine Questions
Do I need a referral?
Many plans don't require one. Send your plan name with the form and we'll check before your visit.
Is a sports medicine doctor a surgeon?
No. Our physicians treat injuries without surgery. If you need an operation, we'll explain why and refer you to an orthopedic surgeon.
Do you only see athletes?
No — anyone with a muscle, bone or joint injury, from gardeners to marathoners. You don't need to be competitive.
Do you see kids?
Yes, from about age 8, including concussion care and sports physicals.
How soon can I be seen?
Injury visits are usually the same or next weekday. Call in the morning for the best chance of a same-day slot.
Can I send injury details through this website?
Please don't include medical details in the form — we'll go over them on the phone. For a serious injury, call 911.
