Answers Before You Leave
Plainsway opened in 2017 so Lubbock families had somewhere between a week-long wait for their doctor and a long night in the ER. Every shift has a physician or physician assistant on site, digital x-ray in the next room and a lab for rapid flu, strep and COVID tests.
Most people leave with a diagnosis, a plan and — when it's needed — a splint, stitches or a prescription sent to their pharmacy. A copy of your visit note goes to your regular doctor so nothing falls through the cracks.
- ✓Physicians and PAs on every shift
- ✓Digital x-ray read during your visit
- ✓Visit notes sent to your doctor

What Lubbock Says About Us
Saved my spot from the soccer field, waited in the car and was called in about twenty minutes later. X-ray, splint and a printout for the orthopedist, all in one stop.
Strep test came back while I was still in the room. The PA explained the results, sent the prescription to my pharmacy and the visit note to my regular doctor.
I don't have insurance right now, and they told me the self-pay price at the front desk before I was seen. No surprise bill a month later.

Urgent Care Questions
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in any time we're open, or save your spot online so you can wait at home until we text you.
How long is the wait?
It depends on the day — evenings and Monday mornings are busiest. Saving your spot is the easiest way to keep your wait short.
Do you take my insurance?
We accept most major plans, including Medicare. Call with your plan name and we'll check. Without insurance, ask for the self-pay price before your visit.
Do you see children?
Yes, children of all ages for everyday illnesses and injuries. For a baby under 3 months with a fever, call your pediatrician or go to the ER.
Will my regular doctor know I came in?
Yes — with your permission we send your visit note to your primary care doctor.
Can I ask a medical question through the website?
Please don't — the website form isn't for medical details. Call us, and for an emergency call 911.
Billing Or Records Questions?
Send a message about a bill, a work comp visit or a records request and our office will reply within one business day.
