The Treasure Valley's Building Partner

Boise is one of the fastest-growing places in the country, and Benchmark has helped wire a lot of it. For 18 years we've been the new-construction electrical partner that builders, GCs, and custom-home owners count on — from a single custom home to a multi-family development. New construction electrical is a different discipline than service work: it lives and dies by the schedule, the plans, the inspection, and how well you coordinate with every other trade on site. We're built for exactly that. We hit our dates, pass inspection the first time, keep our work clean and documented, and roll with the inevitable changes. When the build runs smooth, it's usually because the electrical did.

Builders & Homeowners on Benchmark

As a custom home builder, my electrical sub can make or break a schedule — and Benchmark is the reason mine runs on time. They hit rough-in dates, their crews are clean and organized, they pass inspection the first time, every time, and when a client changes the plan mid-build they roll with it professionally. Their labeling and documentation make the trim-out and the final walkthrough painless. I've built with a lot of electricians over 20 years; Benchmark is the one I put in every bid now. They make me look good to my clients.

We built our dream home and Benchmark did all the electrical — rough-in through the beautiful finish work. They planned every circuit, outlet, and fixture with us, ran structured wiring for a smart home, and the whole system is clean, labeled, and flawless. Professional from permit to final. Couldn't be happier.

Benchmark wired a multi-family development for us — dozens of units, tight timeline, strict inspection schedule. They staffed it properly, kept pace with the GC, and delivered clean, code-compliant work unit after unit. Reliable at scale, which is rare. They're on our short list for every project now.

Your Electrical Sub Sets Your Schedule

Every builder knows the feeling: the framing's done, the inspection's booked, the client's asking for a move-in date — and it all hinges on trades hitting their windows. Electrical is one of the most schedule-critical, because so much can't happen until the rough-in's done and passed. The wrong sub — one who's overbooked, sloppy, or fails inspection — cascades delays through your entire build. The right one is quietly the backbone of your timeline. That's the role Benchmark plays: we show up when we say, do it right the first time, and keep your project moving. Build with a partner, not a bottleneck.

  • Rough-in gates the rest of the build
  • A failed inspection cascades delays
  • We hit dates and pass first time
  • The quiet backbone of your schedule
Questions

New Construction FAQs

Do you work with builders and GCs, or homeowners?

Both. We're a go-to electrical sub for builders, GCs, and developers who need a reliable partner that hits the schedule and passes inspection — and we also work directly with custom-home owners building their own home. Either way, new construction is our specialty and we scope and schedule it professionally.

Can you keep up with our build schedule?

That's the whole point of us. Schedule is everything in new construction, and our reputation is built on hitting rough-in windows, coordinating with the other trades, and passing inspection the first time so nothing cascades. We staff projects properly and communicate proactively when anything shifts.

Do you handle custom homes with detailed electrical plans?

Absolutely — custom homes are some of our favorite work. We plan the electrical with you circuit by circuit, run structured wiring and smart-home pre-wire before drywall, and execute clean rough-in and beautiful finish work. Every drop and fixture is intentional and documented.

Can you scale to multi-family and developments?

Yes. We wire multi-family buildings and developments — dozens of units on a tight, inspection-driven schedule — with the staffing and organization to keep pace with the GC. Reliable, code-compliant electrical at scale is exactly what we deliver.

Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?

Yes — Benchmark is a licensed Idaho electrical contractor (#C-19204), bonded, and fully insured, with the coverage builders and developers require. New construction is permitted, inspected work at every stage, and we handle all of it to code.
