Questions Before The Measure
How much does new flooring cost per square foot?
It depends mostly on the material and what's underneath. Laminate and vinyl plank are usually the least per square foot installed, tile and solid hardwood the most, and removal and subfloor repairs are added on top. The written quote after the measure shows every line, so you can compare floors side by side.
Can you install over my existing floor?
Sometimes. Vinyl plank and laminate can often float over old vinyl or tile if it's flat and sound. Carpet always comes up, and hardwood needs a proper wood subfloor. We check on the measure visit and tell you which way costs less.
How long will my house be out of action?
Most single rooms take a day. A whole main floor of vinyl plank is usually two to three days; hardwood with stairs can be four or five. We plan the order so you always have a way through the house.
Is vinyl plank really waterproof?
The planks are. The seams and edges can still let a flood underneath, so in kitchens and baths we seal the perimeter and talk about where water actually comes from.
Do I need to move my furniture first?
No — moving it is in the price. Empty the china cabinet and the bookshelves, and we'll do the rest. Pianos, pool tables and safes need a specialist mover.
Do you sell the flooring or just install it?
Both. Most customers buy the material through us so one company owns the whole job. If you've already bought flooring, we'll look at it on the measure visit before we quote to install it.
