Catering for the Moments That Matter
Whatever you're planning, we'll design a menu and an experience around it. Explore the occasions we love most — then let's make yours one of a kind.

A Charleston Kitchen With a Point of View
Laurel & Larder began with a simple conviction: catering should taste like a restaurant you love, not a banquet hall. Founded in 2014 by chef Nora Beaumont, we've spent a decade quietly becoming the team Charleston's planners and couples call first — the ones who treat a hundred-guest wedding with the same care as a twelve-seat dinner.
Everything is made from scratch, built around what's good that week from Lowcountry farms, fishermen, and makers. We design every menu from a blank page — no recycled packages, no rotating banquet list — and we staff every event with people who genuinely love hospitality. The result is food that tastes alive and service so smooth you forget there's a team behind it. That's the whole idea.
- ✓Made from scratch, every time
- ✓Seasonal Lowcountry sourcing
- ✓Menus designed from a blank page
- ✓Hospitality-first event staff

The Menu Follows the Season, Always
We don't believe in a fixed menu, because the best ingredient is the one at its peak this week. Spring brings sweet Carolina strawberries and soft-shell crab; summer, heirloom tomatoes and just-off-the-boat shrimp; fall and winter, root vegetables, oysters, and slow-braised everything. We build your menu around that calendar.
It also means we can meet any table. Plant-forward feasts, gluten-free wedding cakes, kid-friendly stations, a vegan tasting menu that stands shoulder to shoulder with the rest — none of it is an afterthought. Tell us how your people eat, and we'll make sure every single guest leaves talking about their meal, not their restrictions.
- ✓Peak-season Lowcountry ingredients
- ✓Vegan, gluten-free & allergy-aware courses
- ✓Plant-forward and family-style options
- ✓Every guest fully taken care of
Why Charleston Hosts Choose Us
A lot of companies can feed a crowd. Fewer can make an event feel like yours. Here's where we're different.
Restaurant-Quality, at Scale
We obsess over the food the way a great restaurant does — then we engineer it to taste just as good for five hundred as it does for five.
Nothing Off a Template
No package menus, no copy-paste proposals. Every event is designed from scratch, which is exactly why no two of ours look alike.
Service You Don't Notice
The mark of great hospitality is invisibility. Our team anticipates, adjusts, and resets so smoothly you'll never see the work.
One Team, Every Detail
Food, bar, staff, rentals, and timeline under one roof. One point of contact, zero gaps, and a day that simply runs itself.
Charleston Celebrates With Us
Laurel & Larder made our wedding dinner the thing everyone still talks about. The menu was completely our own — Lowcountry but elevated — and the service was so seamless we never once thought about logistics. We just got to enjoy our day. Worth every penny and then some.
We've used them for three years of company events now and they have never missed. Beautiful presentation, food that actually tastes incredible at scale, and a team that handles every detail so I can focus on the guests. They make me look very good at my job.
I hosted an intimate anniversary dinner for twelve and it felt like a private fine-dining restaurant came to my home. The chef walked us through each course, the plating was stunning, and my kitchen was spotless when they left. Genuinely magical.

Questions, Answered
How far in advance should I book?
For weddings and large events, six to twelve months is ideal, especially for peak spring and fall dates in Charleston. That said, we love a good last-minute dinner party too — reach out whenever, and if we have the date open, we'll make it happen. The sooner we start, the more we can tailor.
Is there a minimum event size or spend?
Not a strict headcount minimum — we cater everything from intimate dinners of a dozen to weddings of two thousand. We do have a minimum investment that varies by season, day of week, and service style. We'll always be transparent about it on your very first call so there are no surprises.
Do you hold dates?
We can place a courtesy hold on your date for a short window while you decide, and your date is fully secured once we have a signed agreement and deposit. Because we take a limited number of events to protect quality, popular dates do go quickly — so it's worth reaching out early.
Can the menu be completely customized?
Absolutely — it's the whole point. We design every menu from a blank page around your taste, your guests, and what's in season. Bring us a family recipe, a cuisine you love, or just a vibe, and we'll build something that's unmistakably yours. We never serve a recycled package menu.
Do you accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies?
Always, and with real care. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, nut-free, and allergy-aware courses are crafted with the same artistry as everything else — never an afterthought plate. Just share your guests' needs when we plan, and every single person at your event will be looked after.
Can we do a tasting before we book?
Yes — we strongly encourage it. Once we've designed your proposed menu, we'll host a private tasting so you can experience the food and refine every course with us before committing. It's one of the best parts of the process, and it's how we make sure the final menu is exactly right.
Do you provide staff, bar, and rentals too?
We're a full-service team. Along with the food, we coordinate professional servers and chefs, full bar and beverage service, and rentals like linens, china, glassware, and florals. One team, one point of contact, every detail handled — so you can actually enjoy your own event.
What areas do you serve?
We're based downtown and cater throughout the Charleston area — Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island, Kiawah, Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms, and the surrounding Lowcountry. We also travel for destination weddings and special events; just ask, and we'll let you know what's possible for your location.
