The Grooming Menu
Full grooms are $90 up to 20 lb, $110 to 45 lb and $135 over 45 lb. Every groom ends with a two-minute coat lesson at the counter.
A Salon, And A Shelf
We opened Whiskwell because owners kept asking what brush we used, which shampoo, which comb — and then couldn't find them anywhere. So the front of the boutique is a small shop of exactly those things, and the back is a calm salon where one groomer works on one dog at a time. Every groom ends at the shelf with a short coat lesson, and you'll never be pushed to buy a thing.

How much does dog grooming cost in Alexandria?
Full grooms in the Alexandria area usually run $80–$160 depending on size and coat. Ours are $90 up to 20 lb, $110 up to 45 lb and $135 above, with a hand-scissored finish for $30 more.
Can I shop without booking a groom?
Of course. The shop is open whenever the salon is, plus Sundays 11am to 4pm.
Do I have to buy anything?
Never. The coat lesson at pickup is free, and so is the advice.
What vaccinations do you need?
Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella for adult dogs; puppies up to date on their age-appropriate shots.
How long does a groom take?
Two to three hours for most full grooms. We text you when your dog is ready.
Do you groom cats?
We're a dog-only salon, but we're happy to recommend a cat groomer nearby.
