About Us

Caring For Someone Is Full-Time. You Still Need Time Off.

Our founder spent four years caring for her father at home. The hardest part wasn't the work — it was never getting a break she could trust. So respite is all we do: we step in for a few hours, a night or a few weeks, follow your routines to the letter, and hand everything back the way you left it.

  • ✓Respite is our only service
  • ✓One or two regular caregivers for your family
  • ✓Your routines written down and followed
  • ✓A text update while you're away
For The Family Caregiver

Signs You're Running On Empty

Exhausted

Broken nights and long days add up, and a weekend no longer fixes it.

Overdue

The checkup, the dentist, the haircut — always next month.

Irritable

Snapping, or close to tears, over things that never used to bother you.

Stretched

Not one whole day off in months — every errand squeezed in between care.

While You're Away

Same House, Same Routine

Respite works best when nothing changes for the person you care for. Your caregiver follows your notes: breakfast at the usual time, the walk after lunch, the medication reminders, the same chair for the evening news. When you come home, you get a short written note of how the time went.

  • ✓Personal care, meals and medication reminders
  • ✓Company, walks and favorite activities
  • ✓Light housekeeping and laundry
  • ✓A written note when you get back

Questions

Respite Care Questions

How short can a respite booking be?

Four hours. Overnight shifts run 10pm to 7am, and live-in cover can be booked for a weekend or up to three weeks.

How much does respite care cost?

Daytime visits start at $36 an hour. Overnight and live-in stays are quoted as a flat rate, and you get the price in writing before you book.

Does Medicare pay for respite care?

Medicare generally doesn't cover in-home respite. Its respite benefit is part of hospice care, as short inpatient stays of up to five days at a time. Veterans benefits, long-term care insurance and local caregiver programs are the usual ways families pay.

Will it be the same caregiver each time?

Yes. Each family has one or two regular caregivers, so the person you care for sees a familiar face.

What if Mom has dementia?

Many of the people we care for live with memory loss. Our dementia-trained caregivers keep to the routine in your notes, and we'll do a short visit together first so she meets them while you're there.

How far ahead should I book?

A week or two ahead for vacations. We can often cover a day at 24 hours' notice, and we keep room for emergencies — call us.
