Juniper & Jute began with a frustration: that so many beautiful homes feel like showrooms — polished, matching, and strangely soulless. We design the opposite. For nine years we've created warm, eclectic, collected homes across Austin, the kind that feel gathered over a lifetime even when we pull them together in a few months. Our work is layered by intention: natural textures and handmade pieces, vintage finds with a story, plants that bring a room to life, and colour used with confidence and joy. But eclectic isn't the same as chaotic — the discipline is in making a hundred different things feel like they belong together, calm and considered rather than cluttered. Not at all. 'Boho and eclectic' is less a strict style than an approach — warm, layered, collected, and personal. We've brought soul to modern condos, historic bungalows, and family homes alike. If you want a home that feels gathered, characterful, and truly yours rather than matching and off-the-shelf, you'll feel right at home with us, whatever your space.
Will an eclectic home end up looking cluttered?
Only if it's done without an eye — and that's exactly what you're hiring us for. Eclectic done well is a discipline: we layer texture, colour, and collected pieces so a rich, warm room still feels calm and considered. Everything earns its place. The goal is soulful and gathered, never chaotic, and getting that balance right is the heart of our craft.
Do you source vintage, or only new pieces?
Vintage sourcing is one of our favourite parts of the work. We hunt down one-of-a-kind vintage and handmade pieces — the finds that give a home its story and soul — and blend them with new pieces where it makes sense. Nothing we choose is the same set everyone else has. That mix of old, new, and handmade is what makes a home feel gathered over a lifetime.
What does full-service design include?
Everything from the first conversation to the final styled shelf: layout and flow, palette and textiles, furniture and vintage sourcing, plants and biophilic styling, trade coordination where needed, and final layering and styling. You get one warm studio holding the whole vision, and a process we manage gently and thoroughly so gathering your home feels like a joy.
How is your pricing structured?
After an initial consultation we provide a clear proposal with a flat design fee based on scope, plus transparent tracking of all furnishing and sourcing costs in your budget. For smaller needs we offer hourly consultation. We talk numbers openly from the first conversation — soulful design doesn't have to mean unpredictable, and there are never surprises.
Do you work outside Austin?
