About Driftwood & Linen

Coastal, Done With Restraint

Driftwood & Linen was founded on a conviction that coastal design is easy to do badly and hard to do beautifully. The bad version is all seashells and rope and painted anchors — a theme applied to a house. The beautiful version is subtler and far more elegant: it's the feeling of the water itself, brought indoors through light, air, natural materials, and a palette borrowed from the Gulf. That's the only kind we do. For fifteen years we've designed light-filled, breezy, sophisticated homes across Naples and the Gulf Coast — waterfront estates in Port Royal, beach retreats on Marco Island, serene condos in Pelican Bay. We work with natural textures, soft blues and sand tones, and rooms planned to open to the water and exhale. And because we design here, we know how to build for here: the sun, the salt air, the humidity, the way a home is lived in half the year and closed the other half. The result is a home that feels like an elevated, permanent vacation — serene, coastal, and never, ever kitschy.

  • Coastal by feeling, never by theme
  • Natural textures and a palette drawn from the Gulf
  • Rooms planned to open to the water and exhale
  • Built for the Florida sun, salt, and seasons
Why Clients Choose Us

Coastal Expertise, Elevated Taste

What it means to have Driftwood & Linen design your coastal home.

Coastal Done Right

Sophisticated and serene, drawn from the water — never seashells, rope, and painted anchors.

We Design for the Climate

Sun, salt air, and humidity are unforgiving. We choose materials and finishes that stay beautiful here.

A Palette From the Gulf

Soft blues, sand, and natural textures, layered with restraint, so a room feels like the coast itself.

Built for Seasonal Living

Many of our homes are lived in half the year. We design for easy, low-worry ownership from afar.

Managed End to End

We run the whole project, often for out-of-state clients, so you arrive to a home that's simply ready.

Serene and Timeless

Coastal design that reads as elegant and calm for decades, not a trend that dates in a season.

Light & Materials

The Gulf, Brought Gently Indoors

The magic of a great coastal home isn't in a single object — it's in the light and the materials, and the way they conspire to make a room feel like the water outside. That's the craft we've spent fifteen years perfecting. We plan every home around its light, orienting rooms and sightlines to the Gulf and letting sun and reflection do the decorating. We choose materials that belong to the coast and stand up to it: weathered woods and rattan, linen and cotton, natural stone and unlacquered finishes that only grow more beautiful with sun and salt. And we hold the palette to a soft, restrained range of blues, sand, and white, so nothing shouts and everything settles. The result is a home that feels serene the moment you step in from the heat — cool, airy, and unmistakably of the water, without a single seashell in sight. That restraint is the whole difference, and it's what makes a coastal home feel elevated rather than themed.

  • Rooms planned around the coastal light
  • Natural materials that thrive in sun and salt
  • A restrained palette of blues, sand, and white
  • Serene and elevated — never themed

Catherine & Warren Ashby
We wanted our Port Royal home to feel like the Gulf itself — light, airy, breezy, and effortlessly elegant, never themed or kitschy. Driftwood & Linen understood that balance perfectly. They filled our home with natural textures, soft blues and sand tones, and gorgeous light-filled rooms that open to the water. It feels like a permanent, elevated vacation. Fifteen years of coastal expertise shows in every considered choice.
Miguel & Sofia Herrera
Coastal design done badly is all seashells and anchors. Driftwood & Linen do it the right way — sophisticated, serene, and genuinely of the water, with beautiful natural materials and a palette drawn from the Gulf. Our beach house is the most relaxing, elegant place we've ever owned, and it handles the Florida sun and salt air beautifully, because they know exactly how to build for it.
Robert & Diane Whitfield
Driftwood & Linen designed our whole Pelican Bay condo, and their sense for coastal light and flow is extraordinary. Every room feels like it exhales. They managed the entire project beautifully from afar while we were up north, and we walked into a finished home that was more serene and elegant than we'd dared to imagine. Simply the best on the Gulf Coast.

Good Questions

Coastal Design Questions, Answered

Does 'coastal' mean seashells and anchors?

Not the way we do it — quite the opposite. Themed coastal design (literal shells, rope, painted anchors) reads as kitschy and dates quickly. Our coastal design brings the feeling of the water indoors through light, natural materials, and a soft palette drawn from the Gulf. It's sophisticated, serene, and timeless — elegant homes that feel of the coast without ever announcing it. Most clients come to us precisely because they want coastal done with restraint.

Do you design for the Florida climate?

Always, and it's a real advantage of working with a local coastal specialist. Sun, salt air, and humidity are hard on materials and finishes, and a home lived in seasonally has particular needs. We choose materials that stay beautiful in this climate, design for easy low-worry ownership, and know the local trades who build for the coast. A designer unfamiliar with the Gulf can leave you with a home that looks lovely and ages badly.

Can you work with us if we live out of state?

Absolutely — a large share of our clients are seasonal or out-of-state owners, and our process is built for it. Video calls, detailed digital plans, and our full project management on the ground mean you can design a beautiful coastal home from anywhere. Many clients hand us the keys and arrive months later to a finished, styled home that's simply ready to enjoy. Distance is no obstacle.

What does full-service coastal design include?

Everything from the first walkthrough to the final styling: space planning and light orientation, materials and finishes chosen for the climate, furniture and textiles, custom millwork, outdoor and lanai living, procurement, trade coordination, and installation. You get one studio holding the whole coastal vision and managing every detail, so even a complex waterfront project feels calm and handled.

How is your pricing structured?

After an initial consultation we provide a clear proposal — a flat design fee based on scope, plus transparent tracking of all furnishing and construction costs in your budget. For smaller needs we offer hourly consultation. We talk numbers candidly from the first conversation, so there are never surprises, and we help you invest where the coastal light and materials matter most.

Do you work beyond Naples?

Naples and the surrounding Gulf Coast are our home — Old Naples to Port Royal to Marco Island and Bonita Springs — and we design throughout the region. For the right waterfront or beach project a little further along the coast, we're glad to travel. If you love our work and you're on the Gulf, let's talk.
