Your Yard, in Full Bloom — Seasonal Color in Charlotte, NC
We fill Charlotte gardens with color that changes with the seasons — designed, planted, and refreshed, so your yard is always the prettiest thing on the street.

We're a Little Obsessed With Color
Bloomfield Gardens started with a simple frustration: most yards are green for nine months and beautiful for maybe three, and most people are far too busy to fix that. We thought gardens should be joyful all year — so we built a service around it. For nine years, we've done one thing better than anyone in Charlotte: keep yards full of gorgeous, ever-changing color, without their owners having to lift a trowel. We design a plan for your property, we plant it ourselves with healthy, locally-grown flowers chosen to thrive in our heat and clay, and then we come back and refresh the color as the seasons turn — tulips and pansies giving way to bold summer annuals, then to mums and cool-season color, then to winter greens. You get the daily, driveway-pulling-in delight of a yard that always looks cared-for and alive, and you get it effortlessly. We're the crew that treats your beds like a canvas and genuinely loves the work — and it shows, every season, in yards all over Charlotte.

A Year of Color, All Over Charlotte

Color That Changes All Year
Spring
We open the year with tulips, daffodils, pansies, and cool-season color — the first burst that makes your yard feel alive again after winter and greets the warm weather in full bloom.
Summer
Bold, heat-loving annuals take over for the long Charlotte summer — generous, saturated color chosen to shrug off the heat and humidity and stay lush right through August.
Fall
Mums, ornamental kale, and rich autumn tones roll in as the season turns, giving your beds a warm, seasonal glow while everyone else's gardens are winding down.
Winter
Evergreens, winter color, and structure keep your yard looking intentional and cared-for through the cold months — so it's never bare, and always ready for the next spring.

A Garden That's Always in Season
There's a particular kind of joy in pulling into your driveway to a yard that's genuinely, effortlessly beautiful — not just for the two weeks in April when everything happens to bloom at once, but all year round. That's the whole idea behind what we do. A garden on a seasonal-color program is never in that awkward in-between state where the spring flowers have faded and nothing's replaced them; it simply rolls from one gorgeous season into the next, always full, always fresh, always looking like someone who loves it is tending it — because someone is. It lifts the whole feel of your home, it's the first thing guests notice and the last thing you see leaving for work, and it quietly tells the whole street that this is a home that's cared for. Best of all, none of it lands on you: no shopping, no planting, no wondering what to do when the pansies give out. You get the beauty and the joy; we keep the calendar and do the work. In a city where most yards go green-and-forgotten by midsummer, yours stays in bloom — and that, we think, is worth an awful lot.
- ✓Always in color — never a bare, in-between yard
- ✓Lifts the whole feel of your home & curb appeal
- ✓Zero work for you — we keep the seasonal calendar
- ✓The prettiest yard on the street, every season
Charlotte in Full Bloom
Our front beds used to be a tired patch of green that I never had time to deal with. Now they're the prettiest on the block, and they change beautifully with every season — tulips and pansies in spring, big bold color all summer, mums in the fall. Bloomfield designs it, plants it, and comes back to refresh it, so all I do is enjoy it and take the compliments from the neighbors. Honestly the easiest yes I've said for the house.
I have zero gardening talent and even less time, but I love a colorful yard. Bloomfield made it effortless — they designed a plan for our whole property, planted it, and now they swap the color out four times a year so it's never bare and never boring. Every season it feels like we got a fresh new garden without lifting a finger. Worth every penny for how happy it makes me pulling into the driveway.
We wanted our patio and entrance to feel special for the way we entertain, and Bloomfield absolutely delivered. Gorgeous container gardens, a perennial border that fills in more every year, and seasonal color that always looks intentional and lush — never that sad half-dead look you see everywhere by August. They clearly know which plants actually thrive in Charlotte. Genuinely talented and lovely to work with.

Seasonal Color Questions
What exactly is a seasonal color program?
It's the easiest way to have a beautiful, ever-changing yard with zero effort. We design a color plan for your beds, containers, and entrance, plant it with healthy flowers chosen for the season, and then come back several times a year to swap the color as the seasons turn — spring bulbs and pansies, bold summer annuals, fall mums, and winter color and greens. You get a yard that's always in bloom and always looks fresh, and you never have to shop, plant, or plan anything. Most clients start with their front beds and entrance and expand from there once they see it.
Do I have to do any of the gardening myself?
Not a bit, unless you want to. The whole point of what we do is to take gardening entirely off your plate while giving you all the beauty of it. We handle the design, source the plants, do all the planting, and return each season to refresh everything. You're welcome to be as involved as you like in choosing colors and favorites, but the trowel, the mulch bags, the sore knees, and the 'what do I plant now?' are all ours. You just enjoy the result.
Which plants actually do well in Charlotte?
Plenty — but the trick is matching the right plant to the right season and spot, which is exactly what we do. Charlotte's hot, humid summers and clay soil defeat a lot of well-meaning plantings, so we use varieties proven to thrive here: heat-tough summer annuals, cool-season color for spring and fall, and perennials suited to our region. Because we plant for the season and the site, your color lasts and looks lush instead of melting in the July heat. Knowing what works here is a big part of what you're hiring us for.
How often will you come out?
For a seasonal-color program, typically four times a year — once per season — to install and refresh the color, plus we can add regular maintenance visits (deadheading, feeding, tidying) to keep everything at its best in between. We'll build a schedule around your property and your budget; some clients want the full year-round program, others just want their beds transformed for spring and fall. Either way, you'll always know when we're coming and what we're doing.
Can you design a whole garden, or just plant color?
Both. Lots of clients come to us just for seasonal color and containers, and that's a wonderful place to start. But we also design complete gardens — perennial borders, structure, and a year-round color plan for your entire property — when you're ready for the bigger picture. We can grow with you: start with the front beds this season, and expand into a full designed garden whenever you like. It's your yard and your pace; we're happy either way.
