Landscape Lighting in Raleigh, NC
We design and install outdoor lighting that turns Raleigh homes into something extraordinary after dark — warm, architectural, and controlled from your phone.
Lighting for Every Part of Your Property
One studio for the whole system — the landscape, the architecture, the paths, and the smart control that runs it all.

A Lighting Studio, Not a Fixture Installer
Most outdoor lighting looks like outdoor lighting — a line of identical path lights and a couple of floods, spec'd from a catalog and stuck in the ground. What we do is different, and the difference is design. Nightgarden is a lighting-design studio: we start at night, on your property, reading your architecture and landscape the way a designer reads a room, and we compose light in warm, deliberate layers that give depth to the trees, reveal the texture of the stone and brick, and draw the eye exactly where it should go. We hide the fixtures so you see the light and never the source. We specify professional-grade brass and copper that survives Carolina seasons for decades, wire it properly at low voltage, and put the whole system on smart control you run from your phone. The result isn't 'some lights outside' — it's your home, transformed into its best version the moment the sun goes down, night after night, for years. For eleven years that's been the whole of what we do, and it's why our work speaks for itself after dark.

The Difference Is Design
Warm, Layered Light
We light in warm, glare-free layers — never a harsh flood — so your property glows instead of glares, and looks composed rather than lit.
Designed, Not Installed
Every system is custom-designed for your architecture and landscape by a lighting designer, on-site and at night — not spec'd from a catalog.
Built to Last
Professional-grade brass and copper fixtures and proper low-voltage wiring — lighting engineered to survive Carolina seasons for decades.
Smart Control Standard
Scenes, schedules, and zones you run from an app come standard on every system — dim, brighten, and automate from anywhere.
How We Design With Light
Layer for Depth
A property lit with one flat wash looks flat. We build light in layers — uplights on the trees, grazing on the walls, soft light on the paths, accents on the features — so the eye travels through depth and the whole scene has dimension, the way a room does.
Warmth Over Brightness
More light is almost never the answer; the right warmth and restraint is. We use warm color temperatures and dim to taste, because the goal is a home that feels inviting and expensive after dark — not a parking lot. It's the difference between glowing and glaring.
Hide the Source
You should see the light, never the fixture making it. We conceal fixtures in beds, under eaves, and behind plantings and aim them with care, so the effect feels effortless and architectural — as if the house were simply meant to look this way at night.

Your Whole Property, From Your Phone
The most beautiful lighting system in the world isn't worth much if using it is a chore — so smart control comes standard on everything we install. From an app on your phone, your entire property becomes a set of scenes you tap: a warm, low 'evening' for a quiet night in; a brighter 'entertaining' when guests are over; 'welcome home' that greets you at the driveway; full 'security' for when you're away. You can dim any zone to exactly the mood you want, set the whole system to run itself dusk-to-dawn on a schedule, and adjust it all from the couch or from across the country. No timers to reset when the seasons change, no walking outside to flip switches — just your home, at its most beautiful, exactly when and how you want it, controlled from the device already in your hand. It's the part clients tell us they didn't know they wanted and now can't imagine living without.
- ✓Tap-to-set scenes for every occasion
- ✓Dim any zone to the exact mood
- ✓Automate dusk-to-dawn — set once, forget it
- ✓Control from the couch or from anywhere

Outdoor Lighting Questions
How is designed lighting different from the path lights at the hardware store?
Enormously. Off-the-shelf path lights are a single, flat layer — a row of identical dots that light the ground and nothing else. Designed lighting is composed: uplights that give the trees and architecture depth, grazing that reveals texture on stone and brick, soft path light that guides without glaring, and accents on the features that matter — all in warm tones, with the fixtures hidden. The difference at night is the difference between 'there are some lights on' and 'this home looks stunning.' It's the same gap as between a lamp in every corner and a room designed by a professional.
What does smart control actually let me do?
From an app on your phone you control the entire system: set scenes (a low warm 'evening,' a brighter 'entertaining,' a 'welcome home'), dim any zone to taste, turn areas on and off, and put everything on an automatic dusk-to-dawn schedule that adjusts through the year on its own. You can do it from your couch or from another state. It comes standard on every system we install — no walking outside, no timers to reset.
Will the fixtures hold up outdoors in the Carolinas?
Yes — because we don't use the cheap aluminum and plastic fixtures that corrode in a few seasons. We install professional-grade solid brass and copper fixtures that are built for decades outdoors and actually look better as they patina, wired with proper direct-burial low-voltage cable. It's a real investment in the property, and it's engineered to last, backed by manufacturer warranties and our own lifetime support.
Is low-voltage landscape lighting safe?
Very. Landscape lighting runs at low voltage (12V) stepped down from your home's power by a transformer, so the wiring in your beds and lawn carries a small, safe current — a completely different and far safer thing than line-voltage electrical work. We're licensed and insured, we install to code, and we handle the transformer and connections professionally, so the whole system is safe around children, pets, and gardening.
Do you service and adjust the system after install?
Always — it's why clients stay with us for years. Landscapes grow, seasons change, bulbs eventually need attention, and tastes evolve. We offer lifetime support: we'll re-aim lights as your plantings mature, adjust scenes, swap fixtures under warranty, and keep the system looking exactly as it should. A lighting system is something you live with for a long time, and we're here for all of it.
