Eleven Years Sober. Eight Years Coaching.
I got sober in 2015 after a decade of telling myself I was fine. Treatment and meetings saved my life — but the hardest part came afterward, when I had to learn how to be a person again: how to fill evenings, rebuild trust and go to a wedding without panicking.
I trained as a recovery coach so nobody in Pittsburgh has to figure that part out alone. I'm not a counselor or a doctor; I'm a guide who has walked the road and knows where the potholes are.
- ✓In long-term recovery since 2015
- ✓Trained recovery coach, ICF-accredited coach training
- ✓Works alongside your treatment team, never instead of it

Honest Answers
Is recovery coaching the same as treatment or therapy?
No. Coaching is non-clinical support for everyday life in recovery. It doesn't replace detox, medical care, treatment or therapy — it works alongside them. If you need medical or clinical care, I'll help you find it.
What if I'm in crisis right now?
Please call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or call 911 in an emergency. Coaching is not an emergency service.
Do I have to be sober already?
No. Some clients come to me before they've stopped, some during early recovery and some years in. We start where you are.
Do I have to go to meetings?
No. I support every pathway — 12-step, SMART, faith-based, medication-supported or your own.
Will anyone else find out?
No — what you share stays private, except where someone's safety is at risk or a court or the law requires otherwise. I'll explain these limits when we first talk.
Does coaching work over video?
Yes — most sessions happen by video or phone, which also means nobody sees you walk into an office.
Whenever You're Ready
Sessions are by appointment in Lawrenceville or online. What you write stays private, within limits Owen explains on your first call. In a crisis, call or text 988.
