How do your fees work?
It depends on the scope. Full-service projects are typically a design fee based on the size and complexity of the work, plus the cost of the furnishings and materials we source for you. Smaller engagements like a color consult or a single-room styling are often a flat fee or hourly. We're transparent about all of it from the very first conversation, so you always know what to expect — no surprises, ever.
Do I have to do a whole house, or can you help with one room?
Absolutely one room. Plenty of our favorite projects are a single living room that never felt right, a primary suite that needed warming up, or a kitchen that wasn't working. We scale to fit your needs and your budget, whether that's a focused refresh or a ground-up whole-home design. Start wherever you'd like — many clients begin with one space and grow from there.
How long does a project take?
It varies with scope. A styling or single-room project might be a handful of weeks, while a full renovation with custom pieces and long lead times can run several months or more. Renovations move on the building timeline. In your consultation we'll give you a realistic schedule for your specific project and keep you updated at every stage, so you're never left wondering where things stand.
Will the home still feel like us?
That's the entire point. We don't impose a single signature look — we design around you, your taste, your history, and the way you actually live. We love working your existing pieces and the things you treasure into the design. Our job is to make your home the most beautiful, most resolved version of itself, so it feels deeply like you and effortlessly pulled together.
Do you handle the furniture and the ordering?
Yes — that's a big part of full-service design. We source through the trade, present curated selections for your approval, then handle all the ordering, tracking, deliveries, and the inevitable follow-ups. On install day everything arrives and we place and style it for you. You get the fun parts — the concepts and the reveal — without the logistics and the dozens of browser tabs.
Do you work outside Santa Barbara?
Our home base is Santa Barbara, Montecito, and the surrounding coast, and that's where most of our work is. We do take select projects beyond the area, including second homes and coastal rentals, and we're set up to manage parts of a project remotely when needed.
