Prenatal Massage in Bend, OR
Gentle, side-lying massage from a licensed therapist who specializes in pregnancy, so you can rest while your body does its biggest work.
Ten Years Of Pregnancy Care
I'm Hanna. I've been a licensed massage therapist for ten years and have focused on pregnancy and postpartum care for most of them. Clients usually come to me in the second trimester with sore hips, tight shoulders and trouble sleeping. My job is to help you get comfortable, work around what your body needs right now, and stay in step with your doctor or midwife.

First Trimester
Many therapists, including me, wait until the second trimester. If you'd like to come in sooner, check with your provider first and we'll keep it gentle.
Second Trimester
The most popular time to start. You'll lie on your side with pillows, and we'll focus on the hips, lower back and shoulders.
Third Trimester
Shorter positions, more breaks and lots of support. Some clients like to come every two to three weeks until the birth.
After Birth
Postpartum massage once your provider gives you the go-ahead, usually focused on the neck, shoulders and upper back.

On Your Side, Fully Supported
From the second trimester, lying flat on your back for long stretches isn't recommended, and lying face down isn't comfortable. So prenatal sessions happen on your side, with pillows under your belly, between your knees and behind your back. We switch sides halfway through, and you can ask for a break or a change at any time.
- ✓Side-lying with supportive pillows
- ✓Breaks and bathroom trips whenever you need
- ✓Pressure adjusted for swelling or sensitivity
Careful By Design
Your provider's OK
I ask that your doctor or midwife knows you're getting massage, and I'll work around anything they flag.
A health check-in, every visit
Pregnancy changes week to week, so we start each session with a few questions.
Gentle on the legs
Light pressure only on the legs during pregnancy, never deep work on the calves or inner thighs.
Know when to call instead
Swelling that comes on suddenly, headaches, bleeding or pain in one leg: call your provider, not your massage therapist.
Unscented by default
Pregnancy can make smells overwhelming, so oils are unscented unless you ask.
Stop at any time
If anything feels off, tell me and we'll change position or end the session.

Soft Light, Slow Hours

From Bend Parents
By 30 weeks my hips and lower back ached every night. She set me up on my side with so many pillows I forgot I was pregnant for an hour. I came back every few weeks until I delivered.
She asked about my pregnancy at every visit and checked that my midwife was on board before the first one. I felt completely looked after.
Six weeks after my son was born, my shoulders were locked from feeding and carrying him. The postpartum massage was the first hour I'd had to myself, and I left standing up straighter.
Prenatal Massage FAQ
Is prenatal massage safe?
For most healthy pregnancies, yes, when it's done by a therapist trained in prenatal positioning and your provider is on board. If you have a high-risk pregnancy, check with your doctor or midwife before booking.
When can I start?
I see clients from the second trimester on. If you'd like massage earlier, ask your provider first and let me know when you book.
Can massage start labor?
There's no good evidence that massage starts labor. Prenatal sessions are about comfort, rest and easing aches.
Do I lie on my stomach?
No. You'll lie on your side, propped with pillows, which is comfortable and keeps pressure off your belly and back.
Can my partner come?
Yes, partners are welcome to sit in. For hands-on learning, book the Partner Massage Class.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Massage may be eligible with a letter of medical necessity from your provider. Check with your plan, and I'm happy to give you an itemized receipt.
