About Us

Massage For The People Who Train Here

Brevik started in 2017 with one table and a lot of runners. Today four licensed massage therapists see trail runners, road cyclists, climbers and lifters from across the area. We all train ourselves, we ask what your week looks like, and we'd rather keep you moving than book you every three days.

  • ✓Licensed massage therapists, every session
  • ✓Early and late weekday appointments
  • ✓Stretches to take home, not just a table hour

Our Method

Ask, Work, Check, Plan

Ask

What you're training for, what's tight, and what's coming up on the calendar.

Work

Hands-on time on the areas that matter, at a pressure you choose.

Check

A quick move or stretch before and after, so you can feel the difference.

Plan

Two or three things to do at home, and when it makes sense to come back.

Race Or Big Trip Coming Up?

Book a short pre-event session one or two days out, and a recovery session for the week after.

Between Sessions

Timing Matters As Much As Pressure

Right before a race is no time for deep work, so pre-event sessions stay short and brisk. After a hard effort we keep things lighter for a day or two, then go deeper once the soreness settles. On the weeks you can't get in, a foam roller and the stretches we show you go a long way.

  • ✓Pre-event: short and brisk, a day or two out
  • ✓Post-event: lighter first, deeper later
  • ✓Every session ends with a home plan

Reviews

From Boulder Athletes

★★★★★
I was building toward my first 50K and my calves were a mess every Monday. A post-run session every other week, plus the two stretches they gave me, and I made it to the start line without that tight, pulling feeling.

They asked what I'd been climbing, worked my forearms and upper back, and didn't try to crush me two days before a trip. I booked a 7 a.m. slot before work and was out by 8.

Deep tissue that's actually deep, and they check in so it never turns into a contest. My hips and low back feel better on the bike than they have in years.

I lift four days a week and assumed massage was for relaxing. The assisted stretching session changed my mind. My squat depth is better and my hips don't ache on the drive home.

Athlete Questions

Before Your First Session

What's the difference between sports massage and deep tissue?

Deep tissue is about pressure. Sports massage is about your training: we work the muscles your sport loads, and change the pressure and timing around your races and hard sessions. Many sports massages include deep work.

How close to a race can I get a massage?

A short, light pre-event session one or two days before works well for most people. Save deep work for at least several days before an event, and keep post-event work gentle for the first day or two.

Will it hurt?

Some work feels intense, but it shouldn't be painful. Tell your therapist if the pressure is too much. Mild soreness the next day is common after deep work.

Should I see you instead of a physical therapist?

Massage isn't a replacement for medical care. If you have an injury that's sharp, swollen or getting worse, see a doctor or physical therapist first. We're happy to work alongside them.

What should I wear?

For massage, undress to your comfort level and you'll be draped the whole time. For assisted stretching, wear shorts or leggings and a sports top.

Do you work with teams or clubs?

Yes. Running clubs, cycling teams and climbing groups can book blocks of time. Send us a message with the size of your group.
