Why Loft & Landing

City Apartment Moving, Done Right

Everything a Seattle apartment move needs.

We Know the Buildings

Elevator bookings, loading docks, move-in windows, tight stairwells, and narrow doorways — the logistics of city buildings are exactly what we specialize in.

Flat Price, No Big Minimums

A fair flat price with no four-hour minimum designed to punish a small apartment move — you pay for the move you actually have, not an inflated floor.

Fast & Careful

Quick crews who protect your furniture, floors, and the building's walls and elevators — speed and care both matter when you're on an elevator reservation.

Same-Week Booking

City moves happen fast. We book within the same week you call across the Seattle metro, so a lease change or a new place doesn't leave you stranded.

Licensed & Insured

Full USDOT and WUTC licensing and insurance, and building-required certificates of insurance issued on request for your move-in or move-out.

Friendly, Background-Checked

Vetted, easy-to-work-with movers who make a stressful city move feel handled — the kind of crew you're glad you let into your apartment.

Who We Are

Seattle's Apartment Movers

City apartment moves are their own specific challenge, and most general movers aren't set up for them. The building won't let you move without booking the freight elevator. The walk-up has four flights and a hairpin turn on the second landing. The doorways are narrow, the loading zone is a fifteen-minute window, and the move itself is small enough that a big mover wants a four-hour minimum that makes no sense. Moving in a dense city is a logistics problem as much as a muscle one.

Loft & Landing was built specifically for it. For ten years we've been Seattle's apartment and small-move specialists, and we've done more than sixteen thousand city moves — studios, condos, walk-ups, and high-rises. We know how to book and work within building elevator reservations and move-in windows, we handle loading docks and tight stairwells without scratching a wall, and we charge a fair flat price with no big minimums, so a small apartment move actually costs what it should. Our crews are fast because we're on the clock of a reserved elevator, and careful because your furniture and the building both need protecting. We're licensed and insured, we issue the certificates of insurance buildings require, and we book within the same week you call. Whether it's a single couch up three flights or a two-bedroom between high-rises, we make a city move genuinely easy.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.9 by Seattle Renters

Loft & Landing moved my one-bedroom out of a fourth-floor Capitol Hill walk-up with no elevator, and they made it look easy. Two movers, on time, and they hustled up and down those stairs without a single scratch on my furniture or the stairwell. Because they charge a flat price with no big minimum, my small move actually cost what it should — not the four-hour minimum other companies quoted. They clearly do apartments all day and know how to handle the tight turns. Fast, fair, and friendly. For a city apartment move, they're exactly who you want.
Alex M.Walk-up move, Capitol Hill
I moved between two high-rises in Belltown and Bellevue, which meant freight elevators, loading docks, and strict building move windows. Loft & Landing handled all the logistics — they knew exactly how to book the elevators and work within the time slots, which I had no idea about. The move was quick and nothing was damaged despite the tight timeline. They're clearly specialists at exactly this kind of building-to-building city move. The flat price was fair and there were no surprises. I'd recommend them to anyone moving within the Seattle high-rises.
Jordan T.High-rise move, Belltown → Bellevue
I just needed a couch and a bed moved from a studio to a new place a few blocks away — a tiny job most movers wouldn't touch without a big minimum. Loft & Landing took it happily, gave me a fair flat price, and had it done in under two hours. The movers were quick, careful, and genuinely nice. It's so refreshing to find a company that treats a small single-item move as real work worth doing well. No gouging, no attitude, just a fast, easy move. I'll be using them for every apartment move from here on.
Sam R.Studio move, Ballard
We booked Loft & Landing on short notice for an apartment move and they fit us in the same week, which nobody else could do. The crew showed up on time, wrapped everything, navigated a narrow Fremont stairwell and a tricky elevator, and had us moved in a few hours. The flat pricing meant no anxiety about the clock, and the final cost matched the quote exactly. They're organized, quick, and clearly experts at city apartment moves specifically. Genuinely took the stress out of a move I was dreading. Couldn't recommend them more highly for anyone in Seattle.

Apartment Moving FAQ

Do you charge a big minimum for small moves?

No — and it's one of the main reasons people choose us for apartment moves. A lot of movers quote a four-hour minimum regardless of how small the job is, which makes a studio move or a single-item move cost far more than it should. We charge a fair flat price based on your actual move, so a couch and a bed from a studio to a place a few blocks away costs what a small move costs, not an inflated floor. Small jobs are genuinely welcome and we treat them as real work worth doing well. When you tell us your move size and building details we'll give you a clear flat price up front, and that's what you'll pay — no minimum padding, no surprise fees.

Can you handle walk-ups with no elevator?

Absolutely — walk-ups are everyday work for us. Fourth-floor Capitol Hill walk-ups, narrow Fremont stairwells, tight landings and hairpin turns: our crews are experienced at getting furniture up and down stairs quickly and safely without scratching your pieces or the building's stairwell. We know how to maneuver couches, mattresses, and bulky items through tight turns and narrow doorways, and we bring the right equipment and technique so a no-elevator building isn't a problem. We'll ask about the stairs and access when we quote so we can plan the crew and time properly — but 'it's a fourth-floor walk-up' is a sentence we hear all the time, and the answer is always that we've got it.

Do you know how to handle high-rise elevator bookings?

Yes — high-rise and building-to-building moves are a specialty, and the elevator and dock logistics are exactly the part we take off your plate. Many buildings require you to reserve the freight elevator and move within a specific time window, use a particular loading dock, and provide a certificate of insurance in advance. We're very familiar with how Seattle-area buildings handle this, we'll help you sort the reservations and windows, and we issue the COIs your building needs. On move day we work efficiently within your reserved elevator slot so you don't run over your window. If you're moving between two high-rises with different rules at each end, that coordination is precisely what we do — and it's usually the part clients are most relieved to hand over.

Will you provide a certificate of insurance for my building?

Yes. Most apartment and condo buildings require a certificate of insurance naming the building and management before they'll let movers in, at both the move-out and move-in ends. We issue these on request, usually same-day, and we're familiar with what Seattle-area buildings typically ask for. Just send us your building's requirements — the entities to name and any coverage limits — when we quote, and we'll have the COIs ready well before your move date so nothing holds up your elevator reservation or dock access. It's a routine part of a city apartment move for us, and handling it properly is part of why building managers are happy to see our crews.

How quickly can you book my move?

Usually within the same week you call, and often within a day or two, across the Seattle metro. City apartment moves frequently happen on short notice — a lease change, a new place that opened up, a building move window you have to hit — so we specifically keep availability open for quick bookings. That said, month-end, weekends, and the summer are busy, so if your date is flexible, reaching out earlier gives you more choice of times, and if you have a hard building move-in window, let us know and we'll work around it. Whatever your timeline, we'll be honest about what we have and get you the soonest crew that fits your move and your building's rules.

How do I get a quote?

Call (206) 555-0173 or send the form with your move size and building details — the floors, whether there's an elevator or stairs, and any loading or timing constraints — and we'll send a fair flat quote with no big minimum, usually the same day, and book you in, typically within the same week. The building details matter for an accurate quote, so the more you can tell us about stairs, elevators, and access, the better. Once you're booked, we handle the logistics and show up on time for your window. Apartment moving in a city is genuinely stressful, and having a crew that actually specializes in the buildings — not just the boxes — is what makes it easy. One quick message gets it started.
