Miami's International Movers
An international move is a different order of complexity from a domestic one. Beyond packing and transport, there's choosing ocean versus air freight, booking container space, export-packing to survive weeks at sea and a change of climate, and — the part that intimidates everyone — the customs documentation and clearance at both ends, where a single error can strand your belongings in a foreign port. Getting it wrong is expensive and stressful in a way a local move never is.
Seabound has been doing it right for twenty-seven years. As a licensed FMC/OTI ocean freight forwarder based in Miami — the gateway to Latin America and a major international port — we manage complete household relocations to more than 180 countries. We export-pack your home and custom-crate the fragile and valuable pieces, arrange the ocean or air freight and advise the right mix of cost and speed, and handle all the export and import documentation and customs clearance so you never have to decipher a foreign import form. Through our global destination network, we deliver, clear, and unpack at your new home abroad, making the move genuinely door-to-door. One coordinator manages the whole thing across time zones and keeps you informed as your shipment crosses the world. Families relocating abroad, expats returning home, and companies moving talent trust us because international moving is not a sideline for us — it is the entire craft. Wherever in the world you're headed, we get your life there safely.

International Moving Services
Everything an overseas move requires — freight, customs, and door-to-door.
Why Miami Trusts Us Overseas
Three reasons an international move needs a specialist.
Licensed Freight Forwarder
A properly licensed FMC/OTI ocean freight forwarder — not a broker — so your international shipment is booked, documented, and moved by the accountable party itself.
Customs, Done Right
Export and import documentation and customs clearance handled correctly the first time, so your belongings don't get stranded or fined at a foreign port.
Truly Door-to-Door
A global destination network that delivers, clears, and unpacks abroad — you arrive to your belongings, not a shipping problem to solve alone.

Rated 4.9 for Overseas Moves
We relocated from Miami to Madrid with a full household, and Seabound made an intimidating international move genuinely smooth. They packed everything to export standard, arranged the ocean container, and — the part I was terrified about — handled all the customs paperwork on both ends flawlessly. We tracked the shipment across the Atlantic, and it arrived on schedule and cleared customs without a single hiccup. Their destination partner delivered and unpacked at our new apartment. Twenty-seven years of doing this clearly shows. For an overseas move, you want specialists who know freight and customs cold, and that's exactly what they are.
My company transferred me to Singapore on a tight timeline, and Seabound handled the entire international move with impressive precision. They advised on what to ship by air versus sea to balance cost and speed, crated my art and electronics for export, and managed the documentation and customs so I never had to decipher a foreign import form. Everything arrived intact and on time, delivered to my door in Singapore. Their coordinator was reachable across time zones and always had answers. For a complex overseas relocation, they were exactly the expert partner I needed. Truly first-class service.
We moved back to Colombia after fifteen years in the States, shipping a lifetime of belongings, and Seabound treated it with the care it deserved. They export-packed everything meticulously, arranged the ocean freight, and navigated the customs process into Colombia — which can be complicated — with total competence, keeping us informed the whole way. Nothing was lost or damaged across thousands of miles and an ocean. Being able to trust one company with an entire international household move, from our Miami door to our new home abroad, was an enormous relief. We're grateful and would recommend them to anyone moving overseas.
As a relocation manager I've used several international movers, and Seabound is among the best in the business for outbound moves from South Florida. Their freight forwarding is properly licensed, their customs and documentation are handled correctly the first time, and their global destination network means our transferees get door-to-door service anywhere. They communicate clearly across time zones, their crating for high-value and fragile items is excellent, and shipments arrive on schedule. For a company moving people internationally out of Miami, they are a reliable, expert partner. I recommend them without hesitation to colleagues.
International Moving FAQ
Should I ship my belongings by ocean or air?
It depends on the balance of cost, speed, and volume, and advising that is part of what we do. Ocean freight is far more economical for a full household and is the standard choice for most international moves — you can ship a full container (FCL) for a whole home, or share container space (LCL) for a smaller shipment, with transit times typically ranging from a couple of weeks to a couple of months depending on the destination. Air freight is much faster (days rather than weeks) but considerably more expensive, so it's best for the things you need quickly on arrival or that are light and valuable. Many moves use a mix: the bulk of the household by sea, a small air shipment of essentials to bridge the gap. When we survey your move we'll recommend the right combination for your destination, timeline, and budget, and quote each clearly.
Do you handle the customs paperwork and clearance?
Yes — and it's one of the most important reasons to use an experienced international mover rather than attempting a move yourself. Every country has its own import regulations, duty and tax rules, required documentation, and restricted or prohibited items, and mistakes can result in your shipment being delayed, fined, or held at the port. As a licensed FMC/OTI freight forwarder we prepare the export documentation on the Miami end and coordinate the import customs clearance at destination through our partner network, handling the forms, declarations, and compliance so you don't have to decipher a foreign import process. We'll also brief you in advance on your destination country's rules — what's restricted, what documentation you'll need to provide, and how duties work — so there are no surprises. Getting customs right is precisely the expertise we bring.
Is my shipment protected on an international move?
Yes. We pack household goods to export standard — sturdier and more thorough than a domestic pack, because your belongings will endure weeks in transit, handling at multiple ports, and often a significant change in climate and humidity — and we custom-crate fragile and high-value items like art, electronics, and antiques for the voyage. Marine transit insurance is available and strongly recommended for international shipments, and we'll explain the coverage options clearly so you can protect your belongings appropriately for their value. Our decades of experience packing for ocean and air freight mean we know how to prepare a shipment to arrive intact across thousands of miles, which is a genuinely different skill from packing a truck for a cross-town move. Protecting your belongings for the specific rigors of an international journey is built into how we work.
What does 'door-to-door' actually include?
It means we manage the entire move from your current home to your new home abroad, not just the ocean or air leg. On the Miami end we export-pack, crate, and collect your belongings and handle export documentation. We arrange and book the freight and manage the shipment in transit. At the destination, our vetted local partner handles import customs clearance, delivers to your new address, and can unpack and place your belongings — so you're not left standing in a foreign country trying to arrange local movers and clear customs in a language you may not speak. One coordinator oversees the whole chain and stays in contact across time zones. Door-to-door is the whole point of hiring an international specialist: your only job is to be there when your life arrives, correctly and on schedule, at the other end.
How far in advance should I book an international move?
As early as you reasonably can — ideally several weeks to a couple of months before your planned departure, and earlier for large households or complex destinations. International moves have more moving parts than domestic ones: container space needs to be booked, export packing takes time to do properly, documentation must be prepared, and ocean transit itself can take weeks, so the earlier we start, the more smoothly everything lines up and the better the freight options and pricing. If you're on a tight corporate-transfer timeline we can absolutely work quickly and prioritize air freight where needed, but for a typical family move abroad, starting the conversation early gives you the calmest, most cost-effective move. Reach out as soon as you know you're relocating overseas and we'll map out a timeline that works backward from your arrival date.
How do I get a quote?
Call (305) 555-0129 or send the form with your destination country, your home size, and your timeline, and we'll arrange a survey — in person or by video — of your household to scope the move accurately. From there we'll advise the right ocean/air approach and provide a clear quote for the full door-to-door relocation, including freight, export packing and crating, customs and documentation, and destination service, so you can see the whole picture in one number rather than a stack of separate costs. Moving your life to another country is a big undertaking, but with a licensed, experienced international mover handling the freight and the customs, it becomes a well-managed process rather than a daunting one. Wherever in the world you're headed from Miami, we'd be glad to get you there.
