Dog & Cat Rescue in Boise, ID
Every dog and cat we take in lives in a volunteer foster home until adoption, so we can tell you exactly who they are on the couch.
Five Ways To Help A Pet
Adopt, foster, volunteer, ask for help rehoming your own pet, or give. Every path starts with a short form.

We Started With One Dog On One Couch
In 2015 a Boise vet tech brought home a senior beagle nobody had picked, and her neighbors started asking how they could do the same. Quillby grew from that one couch into a network of volunteer foster homes across the Treasure Valley. Our small office on Fairview has no kennels, on purpose: a home is where a scared dog or cat settles, and where we learn who they really are.
- ✓Every pet vetted, vaccinated and microchipped
- ✓Fosters matched to the pets they can handle
- ✓A real person answers every adoption question
Meet A Few Of Our Pets

A mellow eight-year-old who walks politely and naps hard. Fine with calm dogs.

Eleven weeks old, litter-trained and fearless about toys. Best adopted with a sibling or a playful cat.

Four months, all paws. Learning sit and crate time with his foster family.

A Spare Room Saves A Life
Fosters are how we say yes to a pet. You give a dog or cat a quiet place to land for a few weeks or months; we cover the vet care, send food and supplies, and a volunteer can bring them to adoption days if you can't. Puppies and kittens, seniors, and shy cats are where we need the most homes.
- ✓Vet bills, food and a crate covered
- ✓Fosters choose which pets they take
- ✓Support by text, any day of the week

Happy Endings, In Their Words
Juniper's foster mom told us she hides under the bed for the first two days and loves cheese more than people. Both true. She's been home a year and now she sleeps on my pillow.
We'd never fostered before. Quillby paid the vet bills, sent the food and a crate, and answered every text. Three puppies later, we're hooked.
I couldn't keep my dog after my move. They didn't judge me — they helped me write his profile and found him a family with a yard in Meridian.
Pay For The Next Vet Visit
Gifts cover exams, surgery, food and transport for pets in foster care. Tell us the amount you'd like to give and we'll send a secure giving link, or ask about sponsoring a pet or giving supplies.
Rescue, Answered
How much is the adoption fee?
$175 for dogs and $90 for cats, with a discount for pets eight and older. The fee covers vaccines, spay or neuter, microchip and the vet care the pet received in foster.
Do you adopt outside Boise?
Yes, across the Treasure Valley — Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Garden City, Nampa and Kuna. We'll talk about how far is too far for a meet.
What does fostering cost me?
Your time and some patience. We pay for vet care and send food, a crate, a leash or a litter box as needed.
Can I foster if I have pets?
Usually, yes. We match fosters to pets that fit their home, and your own pets should be vaccinated.
I can't keep my pet. Can you take them?
Send us a note. If a foster spot is open we may take them in; if not, we'll help you list and screen adopters yourself so your pet goes straight to a new home.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Quillby is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so gifts are generally tax-deductible as the law allows. We email a receipt for every gift.
