Book The Kids' Eye Exams Before The First Bell
A classroom screening checks distance vision only. A full kids' exam also checks focusing and eye teaming — the skills reading depends on — and takes about 30 minutes.
Questions Families Ask Us
How often should we get our eyes checked?
Most adults every one to two years, and every year if you wear contacts, have diabetes or are over 60. Children should have a first exam around age 1, again before kindergarten, and every year once they're in school.
Can you see the whole family on the same day?
Yes. Tell us how many people when you book and we'll line up the appointments back to back, including on Saturday mornings.
Do you take my insurance?
We accept most vision and medical plans. Call or send your plan details with your booking and we'll check your benefits before the visit.
My eye is red and sore — can I come in today?
Call us first thing. We hold time most days for red, painful or scratched eyes, and these visits are usually billed to medical insurance.
How long do glasses take?
Most single-vision glasses are ready in about a week; progressives and specialty lenses take a little longer. We'll call you the moment they're in.
Is a school vision screening the same as an eye exam?
No. A screening checks how well a child sees across the room. A full exam also checks focusing, eye teaming and eye health — things that affect reading.
