Meet Pellier

What Six Years in One Family's Kitchen Taught

Pellier spent six years as the household chef for a single Greenwich family, cooking from the year their twins started kindergarten until they started middle school. That job taught the parts restaurants never do: what a nine-year-old will actually eat, how to cook around soccer practice, and how to be in a family's kitchen without being in their way.

Today Pellier cooks for three households, each on its own days, and keeps each family's notes — likes, allergies, the dishes that came back untouched — from one season to the next.

What a Household Chef Takes Off Your Plate

Book the dinners alone, or add the pieces your week needs.

Weeknight Family Dinners

Three to five evenings a week, made at your stove from about 3:30 and served when you sit down. Leftovers are portioned for the next day.

School Lunches & After-School Snacks

Next-day lunch boxes packed to your school's rules, plus a tray of snacks for the after-school rush.

Weekend Entertaining

A Saturday supper with friends or Sunday lunch with the grandparents, on the weekends we're not with another family.

Summer House Weeks

A week or two cooking at your summer place in Connecticut, Long Island or the Cape.

Holiday Meals at Home

Thanksgiving prepped the day before, Christmas Eve dinner, or a Passover seder with your family's recipes.

Around the Kids

Cooking for a Table With Children at It

One dinner, adjusted

The same meal with sauce on the side, spice in a separate bowl, or the vegetables kept apart.

School-safe lunch boxes

Packed to the school's nut and allergy rules, with each box labeled by name.

Friday kitchen helpers

On Fridays the kids can roll pizza dough or crack the eggs, if they want to.

A family food notebook

What each person loves, won't touch and is slowly coming round to — updated every week.

New foods, slowly

One unfamiliar thing on the table at a time, next to something already loved.

Pediatric allergies

Allergies listed with the parents first and kept to in every dinner and lunch.

A Familiar Face at Four O'Clock

A household chef becomes part of the week's rhythm. Pellier lets themselves in after school pickup, works around homework at the counter, and is gone once the kitchen is put back — usually before the kids are in the bath.

The same person, the same days, every week. Families hand over a key, not a delivery window.

Three kids, two jobs and a dog. Dinner used to be whatever we could manage at eight. Now we sit down at half past six, together, four nights a week.

Our youngest eats about six foods. Pellier found a way to put a version of the family dinner on her plate every night without making a second meal.

The lunch boxes alone changed our mornings. Everything follows the school's nut-free rule, and it's labeled with the day.

Questions

What Families Ask Before Hiring a Household Chef

Do you do the grocery shopping?

Yes, on the way in. Groceries are billed at cost each week with the receipts, or put on your store account if you have one.

What happens on nights you're not here?

We leave a labeled dinner in the fridge with reheating notes, if you want one.

Can you handle a serious allergy?

Every allergy you list is planned for and written into the family notebook. We can't promise a kitchen is free of an allergen, so for a serious one we'll talk it through with you first.

What if my child won't eat it?

Tell us. Rejected dishes go in the notebook, and we change the plan rather than cook a second meal.

What does a household chef cost?

A weekly rate for the days you book, plus groceries at cost. You'll get the number after the kitchen visit.

Which towns do you cover?

Greenwich, Old Greenwich, Riverside, Cos Cob, Byram and Glenville.
