Hedgeleap started as a group of friends practicing agility in a borrowed field. Ten years on, we have a 12,000-square-foot covered turf ring with full course equipment, a team of experienced instructors, and students from first-timers to national competitors. Our rule hasn't changed: every dog trains at the speed that makes them happy, and every handler leaves smiling.

From chihuahuas to great danes — jump heights are set for every dog.
Dogs over 10 months
Younger puppies start in Foundations with no jumping.

A sit, a recall and loose-leash walking make the first class easier.

Agility Questions
How much do dog agility classes cost in Richmond?
Group agility classes in the Richmond area usually cost $180–$260 for a six-week session. Our Foundations class is $210, Novice Course $225 and Competition Prep $250. The Intro To Agility class is $35.
Is my dog too small or too big for agility?
No. Jump heights and obstacles are adjusted for every dog, and we have students from 5 to 120 pounds.
Do we have to compete?
Not at all. Most of our students play for fun and fitness.
What if it rains?
Our ring is covered, so classes run in any weather except severe storms.
How old does my dog need to be?
Ten months for full classes. Younger dogs can join Foundations with no jumping.
Can I watch a class first?
Yes — spectators are welcome at any weeknight class. Just let us know you're coming.
