Built For High-Energy Dogs
Some dogs need more than a walk around the block. Talusridge takes small packs of matched dogs up the canyons on the trails we hike ourselves: the dog-friendly canyons east of the city and the foothills above the Avenues. Every guide is trained in pet first aid, every van carries water, a first aid kit and towels, and no hike ever has more than six dogs.

One hour, one-on-one, to check recall, pace and how your dog does with others.
Leashed until recall is proven
Dogs earn off-leash time on trails where it's allowed, and only once their recall is reliable.

We cancel on heat above 85°F, wildfire smoke and avalanche-risk days, and tell you why.
Water, first aid and a van that's never far
Every guide carries water and a pet first aid kit; hikes stay within reach of the trailhead.

Before The First Hike
How much does dog hiking cost in Salt Lake City?
Group dog hikes in Salt Lake City usually run $45–$100 depending on length. Ours are $55 for a half day, $95 for a full day and $75 for a solo hike, or $150 a week for three half-day hikes. The trail assessment is $25, credited to your first hike.
Are dogs off-leash?
Only on trails where it's allowed, and only once a dog's recall is proven. Watershed canyons don't allow dogs at all, so we never take them there.
What happens in summer heat?
Summer hikes start early on shaded, higher trails, with creek stops. We cancel when it's above 85°F and give you a credit.
What if it's a smoke or bad-air day?
We cancel and credit the hike. Dogs breathe hard on a trail, and wildfire smoke isn't worth it.
Will my dog come home dirty?
Often. We towel off paws and bellies in the van, but a trail dog is a slightly muddy dog.
Which neighborhoods do you pick up from?
Sugar House, the Avenues, Liberty Wells, East Bench, Capitol Hill and 9th and 9th.
