Gentle Senior Pet Care At Home In Asheville, NC
Old pets do best in their own bed, on their own schedule. We come to your home for meals, medication, slow walks and company — and we notice the small changes before they become big ones.
Built For The Pets Other Sitters Turn Away
Dogs aged 10 and up
Stiff hips, failing hearing, a slower walk to the corner and a pill hidden in dinner. We take our time.
Cats aged 10 and up
Kidney diets, thyroid pills, insulin, and litter boxes that need to be closer than they used to be.
Any pet with a long-term condition
Diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, recovery after surgery. Younger pets on a vet's plan are welcome too.

An Old Dog's Whole World Is The Spot By The Window
Boarding is hard on any pet. For a 13-year-old with stiff hips, failing hearing and a routine built over a decade, it can be frightening. Greyhaven keeps senior dogs and cats where they are comfortable — their own bed, their own bowl, their own window — with the same two caregivers every time, so the face at the door is always a familiar one.
- ✓Same two named caregivers, met before the first visit
- ✓Your pet's routine, your vet's instructions
- ✓Slow, unhurried visits — never a rushed drop-in
- ✓A note and a photo every time we lock the door
Visits & Prices
Prices are per visit for one pet. A second senior pet in the same home is $6 more. Every visit includes meals, water, litter or a yard break, and a written update.
What A Senior Visit Includes
Meals and water, measured
Fed the way you feed them — soaked kibble, warmed wet food, a pill hidden in a treat — with bowls washed and water changed.
Medication on time
Given as your vet prescribes and logged with the time. If a dose is refused, you hear about it that hour, not that evening.
A gentle check
Appetite, drinking, breathing, stiffness, any new lump or limp. Written down every visit so changes show up early.
Company
Older pets get lonely. Brushing, a slow walk to the corner, or twenty minutes on the couch is part of the visit, not an extra.
Kidney Diets, Insulin And Cats Who Have Stopped Jumping
Most of our clients are on something: a prescription diet, thyroid pills, insulin, joint supplements, fluids twice a week. We follow your vet's instructions to the letter, keep a shared log you can read any time, and call you and your vet the moment something looks different.
- Prescriptiondiets and warmed meals
- Insulinand subcutaneous fluids given on time
- Rampsand steps moved within reach
- Appetiteand water logged every visit

What Asheville Owners Say
Our 14-year-old lab can't do the stairs anymore. They lift her the same way every visit, log her pills, and send a photo of her asleep in the sun. It's the first time we've traveled without guilt.
Insulin twice a day for a diabetic cat is not something you hand to a teenager down the street. Every dose came with a time and a photo of the syringe.
They noticed he was drinking more than usual and told us to call the vet. Early kidney disease — caught a month earlier than it would have been.

Your Old Friend Stays Home While You Travel
Twice-daily visits or an overnight companion stay mean no kennel, no car ride and no change of routine. Holiday dates fill by October.
Before You Book
How much does senior pet care cost in Asheville?
In-home pet sitters in the Asheville area usually charge $22–$35 for a standard visit and $90–$140 for an overnight. Because senior visits are longer and include medication, ours run $26 for a medication visit, $32 for a check-in, $40 for a comfort and mobility visit and $125 for an overnight companion stay.
Can you give injections and fluids?
Yes. Our caregivers give insulin, other injections and subcutaneous fluids as prescribed by your vet, and we ask your vet to show us your pet's routine at the first visit. We don't diagnose or change doses — anything that looks different gets a call to you and your vet.
My dog can't manage stairs or get up easily. Can you help?
That is what the comfort and mobility visit is for. We use a sling or a lift for the yard, help with ramps and beds, and keep walks short and slow. We'll ask about hips, back and any vet restrictions before the first visit.
What if something happens while I'm away?
We call you first and your vet second, and we have written permission from you to take your pet to your vet or an emergency clinic if we can't reach you. Every caregiver is pet first aid and CPR certified.
Do you help with end-of-life care?
We can. Many of our clients are in their last year, and we work alongside your vet to keep them comfortable at home — more frequent visits, help with mobility, and company. We don't provide veterinary or hospice treatment ourselves, and we'll always tell you honestly what we're seeing.
Do you look after younger pets too?
Our visits are built for pets aged ten and up, or any pet with a long-term condition. If your household has a young dog as well as a senior, we'll care for both during the same visit.
