I'm not photogenic and I hate having my picture taken. Can you still get a good shot?
This is the single most common thing we hear, and it's exactly what we're built for. 'Not photogenic' almost always means 'never been directed.' We coach every frame — where to put your weight, what to do with your chin and shoulders, how to bring a real expression to your eyes — and we show you the results live on a screen as we go, so you can see it working and relax. The overwhelming majority of people who walk in dreading it walk out surprised at how much they like the result. You don't need to know how to pose. That's our job.
What should I wear?
Solid, mid-to-darker colors photograph best and keep the focus on your face; we generally steer away from busy patterns, bright logos, and pure white. Bring two or three options — typically one more formal (jacket) and one more relaxed — and we'll help you choose on the day. For teams, we'll share a short wardrobe guide in advance so the set stays cohesive without everyone looking identical. When in doubt, dress a notch above how you'd dress for the audience who'll see the photo. We'll handle the rest, including lint and stray-hair patrol before each frame.
How fast will I get my photos?
Fast — that's a core part of the service. You'll review a proofing gallery and choose your favorites the same day as your sitting, usually right from your phone before you're back at your desk. Final, retouched files are delivered within 24 hours of your selections, sized and cropped for LinkedIn, bios, press, and print. If you're on a genuine deadline — a launch, a panel, a program going to print — tell us and we'll prioritize it. We know a headshot is usually the last thing blocking something else.
Can you photograph our whole team, and can you come to us?
Yes to both, and it's some of our favorite work. We bring a complete studio — lighting, backdrop, and tethered live review — to your office and photograph the entire team against one consistent look, coaching each person so everyone ends up with something they're happy to use. We run a tight per-person schedule so it barely disrupts the workday, and we deliver a cohesive, on-brand set for your team page and decks. We also offer recurring on-site days so new hires aren't left as the mismatched photo. Studio sessions in the Seaport are of course available too.
What does a session cost?
Individual sessions are a flat session fee that includes the coached sitting, same-day proofing, and your retouched final files; team and on-site days are quoted per headcount and location. We keep pricing simple and tell you the number up front — there are no surprise per-image charges or retouching upsells at the end, which is a common frustration with other studios.
