Landscape photography is mostly waiting. Anyone can stand in a beautiful place; the photograph that stops you is the one made by someone who arrived before dawn, watched the weather turn, and stayed until the light did something worth keeping. That patience is the whole of Wildlight. For twelve years I've made travel and landscape images from a home base in Boulder — the Flatirons and the high Rockies in my backyard, and assignments that have taken me to six continents, from Iceland's black coasts to the deserts of the American Southwest to the mountains of Patagonia. The work is not about the exotic for its own sake; it's about a genuine sense of place and the particular quality of light that only shows up for a few minutes, if it shows up at all. I shoot for fine-art collectors who want a real window on their wall, for outdoor and tourism brands who need images with soul instead of stock, and for a small number of photographers each year who come out into the field with me to learn how to see this way. Everything I make comes from the same conviction: that the natural world, met with patience and craft, still has the power to move us — and that a great photograph can carry a little of that home.

How do I buy a fine-art print, and what are they like?
Reach out with the image (or the feeling and place) you're drawn to and I'll walk you through the options. Prints are limited editions, produced on archival museum-grade paper or metal, color-managed and hand-finished so they read true, and offered at a range of sizes from an intimate framed piece to a large statement wall. Each is signed and comes with the story of where and how it was made. I can advise on size and framing for your space, and handle finishing and shipping. These are made to be lived with for decades, not printed to a thumbnail — collectors consistently tell me the scale and light are what make them a window rather than a photo.
Can I license your images for a campaign or publication?
Yes — licensing is a core part of what I do. I license landscape and travel imagery for advertising, editorial, tourism, web, and print, with clear written usage rights scoped to exactly what you need and no ambiguous terms. I keep an extensive, curated archive, so often the right image already exists; when it doesn't, I can shoot an original commission. Brands come to me because stock landscape work rarely has a genuine sense of place and light, and mine does. Tell me the usage, the timeline, and the look you're after, and I'll send a clean proposal quickly.
Do you take on commissions?
I do, for both brands and collectors. Commercial commissions are original shoots for outdoor, travel, and tourism clients who need images with soul rather than stock — I'll go to the place and wait for the light. Private commissions are for collectors who want a specific location, season, or feeling captured as an original piece for their space. Either way, you get a clear proposal up front covering scope, rights or edition, and timeline, and a genuinely professional process from brief to delivery. Tell me about the workshops.
I run a small number of field workshops each year in extraordinary places — think Iceland, the Southwest, the high Rockies. They're deliberately small groups, hands-on, and taught the way I actually work: no ego, real instruction on how to see, compose, and wait for the light, plus the technical craft of capturing and finishing landscape images. They suit photographers who are already somewhat serious and want to level up in the field, though enthusiasm matters more than gear. Alumni tell me they came home with images they're proud of and a way of seeing they still use. Workshop dates and locations are shared by request and to my list — reach out to hear what's coming up.
Where are you based and where do you shoot?
I'm based in Boulder, Colorado, with the Flatirons and the high Rockies as a home range, and I shoot on assignment worldwide — six continents so far. That means I can offer both deeply local work (Colorado landscapes, front-range and mountain commissions, regional workshops) and global travel imagery and expeditions. For prints and licensing, location doesn't matter — I ship and deliver anywhere. For commissions and workshops, I travel to where the image or the group needs me to be.
