Diagnose First, Then Fix

Kessling only does repairs, so we don't need to sell you a cleaning plan to make a visit worth it. Every call starts with a proper diagnosis: we test the motor, read the pressure, check the electrical and look for the part that actually failed. Then you get a written price for the fix, and for a replacement when that's the smarter money. If the cheaper repair will do the job, we'll say so.

Warning Signs

When To Call Us

A Loud Or Humming Pump

Grinding usually means bearings. Humming without spinning is often a capacitor.

Filter Pressure Climbing

Pressure that stays high after a cleaning points to a clog or a broken part inside.

Water Level Dropping

More than about a quarter inch a day, beyond normal evaporation, is worth testing.

Heater Won't Fire

Low flow, a dirty filter or a failed sensor are the usual causes. Check the filter first.

Air Bubbles In The Returns

Air getting into the lines, often at the pump lid or a suction-side leak.

Breaker Keeps Tripping

A pump, light or heater with an electrical fault. Turn it off and call.

What San Antonio Says

★★★★★
Another company told us we needed a new pump. Kessling found a bad capacitor, replaced it for a fraction of the price and showed us the old one. The pump's been running two summers since.

We were losing an inch of water a day. They pressure-tested the lines, found the leak at the skimmer and fixed it without tearing up the deck.

Our heater kept shutting off in March. They came the next morning, explained what failed and had it running that afternoon. Straight answers, fair price.

Questions

Pool Repair FAQ

How much does pool pump repair cost?

Many pump repairs, like a capacitor or a shaft seal, cost a few hundred dollars or less including parts. A new motor or a new pump costs more. We charge a flat diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair, and give you a written price before any work.

Should I repair or replace my pool pump?

If the pump is under about eight years old and the problem is a single part, repair usually wins. Older single-speed pumps are often worth replacing with a variable-speed pump, which uses less electricity. We give you both prices.

How do I know if my pool is leaking?

Put a bucket of water on the pool step, mark both water levels, and check after a day with the pump off. If the pool drops noticeably more than the bucket, it's probably a leak. Call us for a pressure and dye test.

Why won't my pool heater turn on?

Most often it's low water flow from a dirty filter, a closed valve or a pump problem. It can also be a pressure switch, igniter, sensor or control board. Check the filter first, then call us.

Do you clean pools too?

No, we only do repairs and equipment work. Your pool service company can keep cleaning; we'll work alongside them.

Is your work guaranteed?

Yes. Our labor carries a one-year warranty, and parts carry the manufacturer's warranty.
