Can documents be notarized for someone in hospice?
Very often, yes. The signer must understand the document and want to sign it — medication schedules and energy windows matter, and we plan visits around them with the care team. When capacity is uncertain, we assess gently and honestly at the bedside; if today isn't the day, we'll say so kindly and try again when the window is better. No fee is charged for a visit where signing wasn't possible.
What if my loved one's ID has expired?
Common, and solvable. Oregon permits alternatives — including credible identifying witnesses who know the signer — and many facilities hold acceptable identification in their files. Tell us the situation when you call and we'll map the options before the visit, so identification never becomes a bedside crisis.
Do you provide the witnesses Oregon requires?
Yes. Advance directives and wills have specific witness requirements — including rules about who may not serve — that surprise many families at the worst moment. We bring qualified, disinterested witnesses to any visit that needs them, at a modest flat add-on quoted in advance.
How quickly can you come?

Can you help us decide what documents we need?
That part belongs to an attorney — we're notaries, and we're careful about the line. What we can do is witness and notarize what your attorney prepares, flawlessly, and point you toward Oregon's excellent elder-law resources if you're starting from scratch. Many of our visits are referred by attorneys for exactly this reason.

All of Greater Portland and Vancouver — hospice houses, OHSU, Providence, Legacy, and more than sixty assisted-living and memory-care communities where the front desk already knows us. Home visits run every day, 8 AM to 8 PM, from St. Johns to Lake Oswego.
