Hello From Linden Hills

Nine Years of 'Oof, Glad You Could Come'

Evergreen started with a borrowed card table and a simple hunch: Minnesotans would rather welcome a notary to their kitchen than drive to a bank branch in February. Nine years and eleven thousand documents later, the hunch has become the whole business.

We keep it neighborly on purpose. Appointments come with a real arrival window (and a text when we're close), prices are flat and spoken out loud before we book, and every document gets explained in plain English before anyone signs. The coffee you offer is always welcome, never expected — though we'll admit the hotdish story from a signing in Richfield still gets told at our house.

  • Real arrival windows, with a heads-up text
  • Flat prices, quoted out loud upfront
  • Plain-English explanations, always
  • Neighborly, never rushed

Same-Day Visits, Most Days

Morning calls usually mean afternoon signings — and yes, that includes the weeks it snows sideways.

The Winter Promise

Paperwork Doesn't Check the Forecast

Every Minnesotan knows the special dread of an errand in January. But closings still fund in January, powers of attorney are still needed in January, and somebody's lease still expires on the coldest day of the year. So we winterized the business instead of the excuse.

Snow tires go on in November. The kit rides in an insulated bag so the stamp pad never freezes (learned that one the hard way). Arrival windows stretch a touch on storm days, and we'll always tell you honestly if the roads make rescheduling wiser. Nine winters in, we've cancelled for weather exactly twice — and rebooked both families within the day.

  • Snow tires by November, every year
  • Insulated kit — the stamp pad stays warm
  • Honest calls on storm-day safety
  • Two weather cancellations in nine winters

Kind Words From Around the Cities

Booked at 10 AM, notarized at my dining table in Longfellow by 2. Kirsten explained both documents clearly, double-checked everything, and even taught my curious ten-year-old what a notary does. Friendly, fast, and exactly what it should cost — you can tell why the whole neighborhood uses her.

It was minus twelve with a windchill advisory and our refinance had to fund that week. Evergreen showed up on time with a smile and a thermos, like it was June. 'We drive in the snow' isn't a slogan — it's a covenant. Minnesotans will understand.

My bakery needed lease renewals and vendor agreements notarized between the morning rush and the afternoon delivery. They came to the shop, worked around the flour and the chaos, and had us done in twenty minutes. Small-business people who get small-business people.

Evergreen handled my mother's power of attorney at her memory-care community in St. Louis Park with real patience — visited twice to catch her at her best, coordinated with staff, got every formality right. Kind and utterly professional. We're grateful.

Fair Questions

What Folks Ask Before Booking

How much does a visit cost?

Minnesota sets the notary fee per signature, and we add a flat travel fee by area — the whole number gets said out loud before we book, so there's never a surprise at the door. Multi-document signings like closings are quoted as one package. If the price ever feels unclear, ask; we'd rather explain twice than surprise once.

Do you really come out in winter?

Really and truly — it's half the reason the business exists. Snow tires go on in November, the kit rides insulated, and nine winters have produced exactly two weather cancellations (both rebooked same-day). On genuinely dangerous storm days we'll talk honestly about timing, but 'cold' has never once been a reason we didn't show.

What do I need ready when you arrive?

Three things: the unsigned document (we need to watch you sign), current photo ID for every signer, and any witnesses your document requires — though we can help arrange witnesses if you're short. We'll confirm the specifics for your document when you book so nothing gets discovered at the table.

Can you visit my parent's care community?

Yes, and we do it weekly across the metro. We coordinate with staff and family, schedule around the signer's best hours, and never rush — if it takes two shorter visits instead of one long one, that's what we do. The signer needs to be alert and understand the document; if you're unsure, call and we'll talk it through kindly and honestly.

How far will you travel?

The whole metro is home turf — Minneapolis, St. Paul, and the first ring of suburbs at standard travel fees, with Edina, Richfield, and St. Louis Park in the daily rotation. Further out (Stillwater, Lakeville, St. Cloud on a good day) just means a fair quoted travel fee. Ask; the answer is usually 'you betcha.'

Can you tell me if my document is filled out right?

We can make sure the notarization itself is perfect and that you understand what the document does — but we're notaries, not attorneys, so we can't give legal advice or tell you what to write. If something looks off, we'll say so and suggest checking with a lawyer before signing. It's the honest version of helpful.
