In-Home Physical Therapy in Chattanooga, TN
We practise on your stairs, your chair and your bathroom — the ones you actually use. A full hour, the same therapist every visit, anywhere within thirty miles of downtown.
(423) 555-0187People For Whom Getting There Is the Problem
Almost every one of our patients could get better with physical therapy. Almost none of them could reliably get to a clinic to have it.

The House Is a Better Gym Than the Gym
There is a well-worn problem in physical therapy: people get very good at things in the clinic that they cannot do at home. The clinic's steps are even, the rails are the right height, the floor is flat and there is no cat.
Your house has none of that. The second step is a different height, the bathroom rail stops short, the hallway is narrow and there is a threshold into the kitchen that catches a walker every single time. Those are the specific problems that will put you on the floor, and they can only be trained where they are.
It also removes the reason people quit. Nobody has ever stopped coming to us because of the drive, the parking, the waiting room or the weather — because none of those exist.
- ✓Train on the stairs you actually climb
- ✓Practise transfers on your own chair and bed
- ✓Hazards found and fixed in the same visit
- ✓Nobody cancels because of the drive
Everything Fits in the Back of the Car
You need no equipment and no space beyond a room you can walk across.
Portable Treatment Table
Set up and packed away in five minutes, for hands-on work that needs you lying down. Most of what we do happens standing up in your own rooms, but not all of it.
Adjustable Resistance
Bands, cuff weights, dumbbells up to thirty pounds and a portable dynamometer, so loading progresses properly rather than plateauing at whatever tins you have in the cupboard.
Balance and Gait Tools
Foam surfaces, a portable step, and a gait belt. Everything needed to challenge balance safely in a hallway.
Measurement
Goniometer, dynamometer, timed tests and a pulse oximeter. You get the same objective testing you'd get in a clinic, in your front room.
Small Fixes
A tape measure, a torch, non-slip strips and a screwdriver. A surprising number of home hazards are solved in ten minutes with those four things.
A Written Programme
Left with you on paper, in large print, with photographs of you doing the exercises in your own house so there's no translating from a diagram.
Ten Years of Front Doors
Mom came out of hospital after a hip fracture and would not have made it to a clinic — she couldn't get in a car. They came three times a week for two months and she is back cooking in her own kitchen.
In a clinic they'd have had me practising on a nice even step. At my house the second step is uneven and the rail stops short. That's the step I fall on, and that's the one we practised.
My husband has Parkinson's and getting him out of the house is a two-hour production that leaves us both exhausted. Having someone come to him means he actually gets the therapy instead of us cancelling.
They taught me how to help him up off the floor before we ever needed it. Three weeks later we did need it, at eleven at night, and I knew exactly what to do.
What Changes When We Come to You
Nobody Misses a Session
Attendance in outpatient physical therapy is a real clinical problem — plans of care go unfinished because of transport, weather and fatigue. Our completion rate is high for an unglamorous reason: we turn up.
We See What's Actually Happening
Whether the walker fits through the door. Whether the rail is on the wrong side. Whether the exercises are being done. Whether anyone has eaten today. A clinic sees a person for an hour; we see a household.
The Family Is There
Whoever helps at home is usually in the house when we arrive, which means transfers and guarding get taught to the person who'll actually do them — not relayed second-hand afterwards.
Goals Are Concrete
Not 'improve gait speed' but 'get to the mailbox', 'manage the back step', 'get in the shower unaided'. When the therapy happens where the goal lives, the goal writes itself.
Hallways, Porches and Back Steps
Ordinary houses across Hamilton County, which is exactly the point.

From Phone Call to First Visit
A Call, Same Day
Tell us roughly where you are and what's going on. We'll confirm we cover the address and give you a straight answer on cost before anything is booked.
The First Visit — Ninety Minutes
Full assessment plus a walk through the house. Every stair, threshold, rail and rug, and where the falls or near-misses have actually happened.
A Plan and a Home Report
Written goals in your words, a home exercise programme photographed in your own rooms, and a hazards list ordered by what to change first.
Regular Visits
Usually two or three a week to start, tapering as you improve. Same therapist every time — you should not have to explain your house twice.

Where We Go and What It Costs
We cover roughly thirty miles from downtown Chattanooga — all of Hamilton County, plus Signal Mountain, Lookout Mountain, Ooltewah, East Ridge and Red Bank. Ring us for anywhere further; we sometimes make it work.
On cost, there is a distinction worth understanding. Medicare home health covers therapy at home only if you are certified as homebound, which many people are not. We are an outpatient practice that travels, so we can see you whether or not you meet that definition — and if you do qualify for home health, we will tell you, because it may cost you less.
We are in-network with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna and Medicare Part B. Self-pay is $150 for the ninety-minute first visit and $110 for follow-ups, with no travel surcharge inside the coverage area.

What Families Ask Us
Do I have to be homebound?
Not for us. Medicare's home health benefit requires a homebound certification, and plenty of people who would benefit from therapy at home don't meet it. We're an outpatient practice that travels, so that requirement doesn't apply — though if you do qualify for home health, we'll say so, because it may work out cheaper.
Is it more expensive than a clinic?
Our self-pay rates are $150 for the first ninety-minute visit and $110 after, with no travel surcharge inside the coverage area. Once you count petrol, parking and someone's time driving you, it's often level or better. Insurance covers it the same way it covers clinic visits.
Do you cover my address?
About thirty miles from downtown, which takes in Hamilton County, Signal and Lookout Mountain, Ooltewah, East Ridge and Red Bank. Ring us if you're further out — we can sometimes make it work, and we'll tell you honestly if we can't.
What do I need at home?
A room you can walk across and a chair. We bring everything else, including the treatment table. You do not need to buy equipment or clear a space.
Will it be the same therapist each time?
Yes. You should not have to explain your house, your history or your goals more than once, and continuity is a large part of why home therapy works well.
Can you teach my family the transfers?
Please let us. It's one of the most valuable things we do and it works far better in your house on your furniture than described in a leaflet. Getting someone up off the floor is the one everybody wishes they'd practised.
