A Little Corner of Paris in Hayes Valley
Bistro classics, an all-French cellar, and a nightly apéritif hour — twelve years in the making.

Twelve Years of Doing the Classics Right
Chez Odette opened in 2014 when Odette Marchand traded a kitchen in Lyon for a storefront on Hayes Street. The menu hasn't chased trends since — it doesn't need to. Steak frites, French onion soup, coq au vin, a cheese course, and a crème brûlée that regulars order before they sit down.
We pour an all-French cellar, run an apéritif hour every evening, and keep the room warm and unhurried. It's the kind of place you come for an anniversary and end up coming every month.
- ✓Bistro classics done properly, every night

What San Francisco is Saying
The steak frites is everything a bistro classic should be — and the apéritif hour is the best-kept secret in Hayes Valley. We're regulars now.
Chez Odette feels like a little corner of Paris. The coq au vin, the cheese course, the all-French wine list — every detail is right.
We hosted a birthday dinner in the back room and it was flawless. Warm service, beautiful food, and a sommelier who clearly loves what she does.
Twelve years in and still the best onion soup in the city. The crème brûlée is worth the trip on its own. Genuinely lovely place.
