Chaat, Turned Up Loud
Rani Electric started with two loves that had no business being in the same room: the chaat carts of our childhoods and the hi-fi listening bars we spent our twenties chasing. So we built a place that does both, seriously — a proper sound system and a rotating crate on one side, a chaat kitchen running till midnight on the other, and a bar that treats the spice box like it treats the liquor shelf.
It's warm, it's purple, it's loud in the way a good night is loud. Come solo, sit at the bar, and let a set and a plate of papdi chaat carry you. That's the whole idea.

Dundas West's Living Room
My favourite room in Toronto right now. The papdi chaat is loud and perfect, the cocktails are genuinely inventive, and the vinyl program is next level — you come for a snack and leave three hours later having heard a whole set. Magic little place.
Chaat and a listening bar shouldn't work this well together but it absolutely does. The bhel puri with a tamarind margarita is a religious experience, the crowd is warm, and the sound system is no joke. Go early, stay late.
We booked the back room for a birthday and the team built a whole vinyl set around it. Spice-forward, unpretentious, and the best hospitality on Dundas West. The masala chai old fashioned is dangerous. Rani is a keeper.
