The Roastery

We Roast It, We Pull It, We Pour It

Static Bloom started as a single roaster in a Division St garage and a stubborn idea: coffee this good shouldn't come with attitude. We source green beans directly from farms we can name, roast small batches on-site every week, and dial in every espresso like it matters — because it does.

Half cafe, half listening bar, all coffee. Come for a cortado, stay for the record that's playing, leave with a bag still warm from the roaster.

  • Green beans sourced direct from named farms
  • Small batches roasted on-site weekly
  • Every espresso dialed in daily
  • Half cafe, half listening bar
Bean to Cup

How the Coffee Gets Good

Four steps between a farm and your cup, and we obsess over all of them.

01

Source

We buy green coffee direct from farms and co-ops we can name, and pay for quality, not commodity.

02

Roast

Small batches on our on-site roaster every week, profiled to bring out each origin's character.

03

Rest & Dial

Beans rest a few days to settle, then we dial the grind and shot until it's exactly right.

04

Pour

Pulled or brewed to order at the bar — the last and most important step happens in front of you.

The Listening Bar

Coffee With a Soundtrack

Evenings, the espresso machine goes quiet and the record player comes up. A rotating shelf of vinyl, a short natural-wine and beer list, and the same beans pulled as after-dark espresso.

It's the same room, dimmed — a place to keep talking after the pour-over's gone cold.

  • Rotating vinyl, all night
  • Short natural-wine and beer list
  • After-dark espresso and pours
  • Open late Thursday to Saturday

Portland Has Opinions About Coffee

The best cup in Portland, and I've tried them all. The Ethiopia they roast is bright and floral and completely ruined every other coffee for me. The space is calm and the playlist is immaculate.

I subscribe to their beans and it's the highlight of my week. Freshly roasted, shipped fast, and the tasting notes are actually accurate. My home espresso finally tastes like the cafe.

Came to work for an hour and stayed four. Great wifi, better cortado, and the staff actually know their coffee without being snobby about it. My new favorite Division St spot.

Good to Know

Before You Come By

Do you have wifi and space to work?

Yes — fast wifi, plenty of outlets, and big communal tables. Mornings are calm; we ask for laptops-closed at the bar on busy weekends so everyone gets a seat.

What milk and dietary options are there?

Oat, whole, and 2% at no charge, plus gluten-free and vegan bites from the kitchen most days. Just ask the bar.

How does the bean subscription work?

Pick a cadence, we roast fresh and ship a bag every two weeks, and you can pause or swap origins anytime. Sign up through the form below.

Do you sell wholesale to cafes and offices?

We do — standing orders of whole bean or ground for cafes, restaurants, and offices around Portland. Reach out and we'll put together pricing.

Can I tour the roastery?

By appointment. We run small roastery tours and cuppings a couple of times a month — ask and we'll get you on the list.

Where do I park?

Street parking on Division and the side streets, a bike corral out front, and we're right on the 4 bus line.
