The Story

Dinner With Your Hands In

Sari Sari Fire is a Filipino charcoal grill built around one idea: the best meals are loud, communal, and eaten with your hands. So we do kamayan — the whole table lined with banana leaves, piled with charcoal-grilled inasal and pork BBQ, mountains of garlic rice, grilled seafood, pickles, and sawsawan, no plates, no cutlery, everyone reaching in together.

We grill over live coals in the open, we marinate everything overnight, and we keep the room bright and loud on purpose — this is a party, not a quiet dinner. Bring your crew, roll up your sleeves, and get your hands in.

The East Bay's Feast

The kamayan feast at Sari Sari Fire is the most fun you can have at a dinner table. A whole banana leaf piled with grilled everything, rice, and calamansi, eaten with your hands with your favorite people. The chicken inasal is unreal. Book it for a birthday, thank me later.

Finally, a Filipino grill that feels like a party instead of a hole in the wall. Bright, loud, communal, and the charcoal grilling is legit — smoky pork BBQ, grilled squid, garlic rice for days. Bring your crew and get the big feast.

We did a kamayan for twelve for my mom's birthday and the whole room came together — hands in, no plates, halo-halo to finish. The team walked everyone through it and made it a genuine event. Best Filipino food in the East Bay, full stop.
