Yoru Yoru — "night night" — is what happens when a charcoal izakaya and a record bar move in together. The coals glow, the lanterns are low, and the whole back wall is vinyl the staff pull all night long.
We smoke skewers over binchotan, pour sake and Japanese whisky highballs, and keep the volume exactly where a great song wants it. It's cinematic, a little smoky, and built for the long, slow end of a night.

The Yoru Yoru Way
There's no right way to do it, but this is how the regulars do.
Start With a Highball
Order the house whisky highball first — it's the tuning fork for the whole night.
Graze the Skewers
A few kushiyaki at a time, salt and tare, straight off the coals as they're ready.
Let the Record Ride
Don't rush. Order another plate, another pour, and let whatever's spinning finish.
Close It With Onigiri
A grilled rice ball and one last shochu is the correct way to say goodnight.

The back room seats up to sixteen under its own low light, with a dedicated turntable and a skewer-and-sake flight we'll build around your night. It's the best-kept birthday secret on the Hill.

My favorite room in Seattle after dark. Charcoal skewers, a highball list a mile long, and a wall of vinyl that the staff actually spin. It feels like stepping inside a great record. Come late and stay later.
The kushiyaki is smoky perfection and the sake list is deep without being intimidating — just tell them what you like. Low light, great sound, no rush. This is exactly what an izakaya should feel like.
Booked the back for a birthday and the team built a skewer-and-sake flight around the night. The apricot glow, the smoke, the records — it's cinematic. Nowhere else in the city feels like this.

Do I need a reservation?
The bar and counter are walk-in — slip in for skewers and a highball anytime. For a table, especially on vinyl nights, book ahead through the form below.
What are vinyl nights?
Thursday through Saturday we hand the turntable to rotating guest selectors — all-vinyl, no cover. Come for dinner and stay for the sets, or just post up at the bar.
I don't know sake. Can you help?
That's the best part of our job. Tell the bar what you like — dry, funky, fruity, or just "surprise me" — and we'll pour you into it. The three-pour flight is a great way in.
Are there vegetarian options?
Plenty — shiitake and shishito skewers, agedashi tofu, charred cabbage, sunomono, and garlic fried rice. Tell us and we'll steer you.
Can you host a private event?
The back room seats sixteen with its own turntable, and we do full buyouts. We'll build a skewer-and-sake flight around the night — send the details through the form.
Where are you and how late?
412 12th Ave on Capitol Hill, open till 1am Tuesday through Sunday, kitchen till 12:30. Street parking around and an easy walk from the whole Hill.
