We Read the Tide Like a Ledger
Tide Ledger keeps a running account with the coast. Every morning we call the same growers from the Lowcountry up to Prince Edward Island, take what's best that day, and write the board around it. If a variety isn't right, it doesn't make the ice.
The room is cool daylight and white marble, the wine is coastal and low-intervention, and the oysters are shucked in front of you. No fuss, no gimmicks — just the cleanest product we can put on ice.
- ✓A daily board, written around the catch
- ✓Growers from the Lowcountry to PEI
- ✓Shucked to order at the marble bar
- ✓Coastal, low-intervention wine list
Cold, Briny, Immaculate

How It Gets to Your Ice
Four steps between the grower and your plate, and the whole thing happens in under a day.
Called That Morning
We ring our growers at dawn and take only what's best that day — variety, size, and salinity all have to be right.
Iced on Arrival
Oysters come in live and go straight onto crushed ice, tagged by origin so we can tell you exactly where each one's from.
Shucked to Order
Nothing is opened until you order it — every oyster is shucked at the bar, minutes before it reaches you.
Dressed Your Way
House mignonette, cocktail, lemon, or naked. We'll steer you, but the last call is always yours.

Towers, Buyouts & the Happy Hour
The best seat in the house is a full table with a tower in the middle. We build raw bar spreads for celebrations, host private buyouts of the back room, and run a $1-oyster happy hour from four to six every day.
Tell us the date and the headcount and we'll set the ice, chill the wine, and let your table graze the coast for as long as you like.
- ✓$1-oyster happy hour, 4-6pm daily
- ✓Raw bar towers built for the table
- ✓Private back-room buyouts
- ✓Celebrations and rehearsal dinners
Charleston's Coldest Bar
The freshest oysters I've had south of the Chesapeake. They walk you through every variety on ice like a wine list — where it's from, how it tastes. The mignonette is perfect. A Charleston must.
We did the tower for the table and it was a work of art — oysters, shrimp, ceviche, the whole tide. Cold, briny, immaculate. The staff know their sourcing cold. Book the happy hour.
Elegant without being stuffy, right in the heart of downtown. The clam chowder and the lobster roll are as good as the raw bar, and the natural-wine list is a delight. Our new anniversary spot.
Save a Seat at the Ice
Reserve a table, book a private tower, or just come for the happy hour — the board's already up.
Before You Come
Do I need a reservation?
For dinner and weekends, yes — the room is small and books up. Happy hour and the bar are first-come, so you can always try to slide in for a dozen and a glass.
What's the happy hour?
Four to six, every day: $1 oysters from the day's board, plus specials on the frozen G&T and coastal wines by the glass. It's the best value in town — and it goes fast.
How fresh are the oysters, really?
Called in that morning, iced on arrival, and shucked the minute you order. Everything on the raw bar is tagged by origin so we can tell you exactly where it came from.
Can you host a private event or big group?
We do — raw bar towers for celebrations and full buyouts of the back room for rehearsal dinners and parties. Send the details through the form and we'll design the spread.
Are there options for people who don't eat raw?
Plenty — the she-crab soup, lobster roll, fried oyster po'boy, and a rotating cooked plate. Nobody leaves hungry.
Where do I park?
There's a garage a block over on Society St and metered street parking downtown. We're an easy walk from King Street and the Market.
