Sharp Cuts. Hot Towels. No Shortcuts.
A proper barbershop on West Broad — where the fade is crisp, the shave is traditional, and the chair is worth the wait. Walk in or book ahead.
Cuts, Shaves & the Full Treatment
Honest prices, no surprises. Every service includes a consultation and a finish that holds. Pick one and book — walk-ins welcome too.

The Shop Richmond Sends Its Friends To
Marcus Ironside and Eli Crowe opened the shop in 2017 with a pair of chairs, a stack of hot towels, and a stubborn belief that a haircut should never feel rushed.
Nine years later, the chairs have multiplied and the standard hasn't moved. Every barber here trains the old way — straight razors, real consultations, finishes that hold — and treats your time in the chair like it matters. Because it does.
- ✓Master barbers, trained the traditional way
- ✓Real consultations — never a cookie-cutter cut
- ✓Straight-razor shaves & hot-towel finishes
- ✓Walk-ins welcome, online booking available
Fresh From the Chair
Fades, shaves, and beard work from the Ironside & Crowe chairs. This is the standard — every chair, every day.

The Closest, Calmest Shave You'll Ever Have
There's nothing like it. We start with hot towels to soften the beard, work in a warm lather by brush, and take a freshly stropped straight razor across the grain with the kind of patience a cartridge razor never earns.
A cool towel, a splash of balm, and you're done — smooth, settled, and about as relaxed as a barber's chair gets. Treat yourself, or treat the groom.
- ✓Hot-towel prep & brush lather
- ✓Traditional straight-razor shave
- ✓Beard & skin conditioning finish
- ✓Perfect for grooms & special occasions
How It Works
Whether you walk in or book ahead, here's the run of play.
Book or Walk In
Lock in your barber and time online, or just stop by — there's usually a chair and always good coffee.
The Consultation
We talk through what you want, what'll suit you, and how to keep it sharp between visits.
The Chair
Cut, beard, shave — done by hand, unrushed, with the hot-towel finish that's earned our name.
Walk Out Sharp
Styled, squared away, and booked back in if you want it. Simple as that.
What Richmond Says
Best fade in Richmond, full stop. Marcus takes his time, the conversation's good, and I walk out looking sharp every single time. Been coming here three years and won't go anywhere else.
Got the hot-towel shave for my wedding and it was honestly the most relaxed I felt all week. Straight razor, warm lather, the whole ritual. Came out smooth as glass.
Took my son for his first real barbershop cut and they made him feel like a regular. Now he asks to go. That says everything about the place.
Clean shop, real barbers, no rushing. They actually listen to what you want instead of giving everyone the same cut. Worth every dollar and the occasional wait.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take walk-ins or do I need to book?
Both. We always keep chairs open for walk-ins, but on weekends and after work it gets busy — booking your barber online guarantees your spot and skips the wait.
Can I request a specific barber?
Absolutely, and we'd encourage it once you find your guy. You can pick your barber when you book online, or just ask at the desk.
What's included in the hot-towel shave?
The full traditional ritual: hot-towel prep to soften the beard, a warm brush lather, a straight-razor shave, and a conditioning finish with a cool towel and balm. It's the closest, most relaxing shave going.
Do you cut kids' hair?
We do — The Young Gent is for ages 12 and under. We make first-timers feel like regulars, so it's a great introduction to a proper barbershop.
How much is a haircut?
The Signature Cut is $40, skin fades $44, and combos and full-service packages are listed right on our menu above. No hidden fees — the price you see is the price you pay.
Where do I park?
There's metered street parking along West Broad and a lot around the corner. We're an easy walk from The Fan and Scott's Addition, too.
